Digital Art | Norellah, Dark Angel of the Mountains ⛰

Very good morning my dear readers and readers of #Hive, happy Saturday to all who read me here, I hope you are super well, you are having a great day and of course a good weekend, here greets you as always your friend Manuel super happy to share with you a new artistic post for my blog. This time I bring you an illustration that I made a couple of days ago and in which I focus on creating a creature that was a kind of dark angel which I call as (Norellah), a creature with a very youthful and angelic face and appearance, but behind that tender look hides a creature with an evil and thirst for destruction as never seen before; Usually (Norellah) lives on the top of the mountains (Pachtum), a place from where she contemplates everything that happens below her, but sometimes she descends from these mountains to attack defenseless creatures and beings:

Muy buenos días mis queridos lectores y lectoras, feliz sábado para todos los que por aquí me leen, espero que se encuentren super bien, que estén pasando un excelente día y por supuesto un buen fin de semana, por aquí los saluda como siempre su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder compartirles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. En esta oportunidad les traigo una ilustración que realice hace un par de días atrás y en la cual me enfoque en crear una criatura que fuese una especie ángel oscuro a la que llame como (Norellah), una criatura con un rostro y apariencia muy juvenil y angelical, pero que detrás de esa tierna mirada se oculta una criatura con una maldad y sed de destrucción como nunca antes se había visto; por lo general (Norellah) habita en la cima de las montañas (Pachtum), lugar desde donde contempla todo lo que ocurre debajo de ella, pero en ocasiones desciende de estas montañas para atacar a criaturas y seres indefensos:

PROCESS / PROCESO

This time I opted for a more portrait style sketch, I drew (Norellah) as if she was turning or turning in front of my canvas, while her 2 large wings wrap around her; for the basic appearance of (Norellah) I opted for a fairly young looking face, with large eyes and long pointed ears. I started the coloring process using a range of orange tones for the base of the skin, in this case I proposed to use brushes of texture and tip a little more rigid like watercolor to achieve a much more specific skin texture; the shadow work was done with shades a little darker than the base tone and applied in areas such as under the neck, between the arms and under the hair.

En esta ocasión opte por un boceto mas a estilo retrato, dibuje a (Norellah) como si se encontrara girándose o volteándose hacia en frente de mi lienzo, mientras sus 2 grandes alas la arropan; para la apariencia básica de (Norellah) opte por un rostro con una apariencia bastante joven, con ojos de gran tamaño y orejas largas y puntiagudas. Empecé el proceso de coloreado utilizando una gama de tonos naranjas para la base de la piel, en este caso me propuse usar pinceles de textura y punta un poco más rígida como el acuarela para lograr una textura de piel mucho más específica; el trabajo de sombras lo realice con tonos un poco mas oscuros que el tono base y las aplique en zonas como debajo del cuello, entre los brazos y debajo del cabello.

In the 2nd stage I took care of creating the details of the face and its expression, in the case of the eyes I used purple and violet tones to create a super hypnotizing look, but at the same time a little cold, I played with the lighter shades of purple and put a little white with a soft brush to define the shines that usually have the eyes. For the mouth I used reddish tones as I thought they would complement better with the orange tone of the skin, here I focused more on giving a soft volume to the lips and for this I only used my airbrush. For the hair work my idea was to paint a short and rounded hair, for this I took a palette of colors a little reddish intermediate and I was creating the hair concert volume to the sides, but letting out from between them the pointed ears of (Norellah); as well as I also applied some soft shines to give more realism to the hair.

En la 2da etapa me ocupe de la creación de los detalles del rostro y de su expresión, en el caso de los ojos use tonos morados y violetas para crear una mirada super hipnotizante, pero al mismo tiempo un poco fría, jugué con los tonos mas claros de morada y coloque un poco de blanco con un pincel suave para definir los brillos que por lo general tienen los ojos. Para la boca use tonos rojizos ya que me pareció se complementarían mejor con la tonalidad naranja de la piel, aquí me enfoque más en dar un volumen suave a los labios y para esto solo utilice mi pincel aerógrafo. Para el trabajo del cabello mi idea era pintar una cabellera corta y redondeada, para esto tomé una paleta de colores un poco rojiza intermedia y fui creando el cabello concierto volumen hacia los lados, pero dejando salir de entre ellos las puntiagudas orejas de (Norellah); así como también aplique ciertos brillos suaves para darle más realismo al pelo.

To create the wings of the dark angel I proposed to use a palette of colors a little more brown, I started creating the base with quite saturated tones and then with my airbrush giving volume, shape and structure to both wings, but leaving a little darker the back wing as this is farther away; then with a fine brush I was defining individually each section of the wings in small feathers intertwined one on top of the other. In the case of the scenery my idea was clear, to create a place that was like the top of a mountain, the first thing was to give shape to the rocks, for this I varied a little the dark browns and I was creating big rocks around (Norellah), then I created the background sky with reddish and orange tones to give a little more dark and gloomy sense to the illustration; and finally with a rough brush I created clouds and a dense fog around (Norellah) and I illuminated a little her look.

Para crear las alas del ángel oscuro me propuse usar una paleta de colores un poco más marrón, empecé creando la base con tonos bastante saturados y luego con mi pincel aerógrafo dándole volumen, forma y estructura a ambas alas, pero dejando un poco mas oscura el ala de atrás ya que esta se encuentra mas alejada; posteriormente con un pincel fino fui definiendo de manera individual cada sección de las alas en pequeñas plumas entrelazadas unas sobras las otras. En el caso del escenario mi idea era clara, crear un lugar que fuese como la cima de una montaña, lo primero fue darle forma a las rocas, para esto varie un poco los marrones oscuros y fui creando grandes rocas alrededor de (Norellah), luego ambiente el cielo de fondo con tonalidades entre rojizas y naranjas para darle un poco mas de sentido oscuro y lúgubre a la ilustración; y finalmente con un pincel rugoso cree nubes y una densa neblina alrededor de (Norellah) e ilumine un poco su mirada.
