Splinterlands | The Frontier Mode is undoubtedly the best move to onboard new players
Hello Splinterlands fam!
I hope you all are enjoying an awesome and fresh day with your family and friends and as usual, enjoying this game in your daily free time. For those of you who are dedicated to playing this game, you all must be focusing on the ranked season right now. Because taking a look at the season clock, we only have around 1 week before this ingoing season ends. So, it's important to complete whatever goal you have set for yourself in this season, whether it is to reach a certain league tier or to secure a position in the champion top leaderboard. Another thing to note is that the season end bloodbath is also about to begin in the next 4-5 days, so be sure to reach your goal before that to avoid the bloody arena and playing against the OG unbeatable players.
Apart from the ranked season, tournaments and brawls, splinterlands has recently come up with a handful of more unique ways to play and enjoy the game. Not long ago, we witnessed the brand new Survival mode being introduced in the game and soon after that, they boosted the hype even more by creating a campaign mode, which will help new players to understand all the aspects of the gameplay and tutorial in a fun way while rewarding them with foundation cards. This new mode is really engaging from my experience and as expected, the campaign mode turned out to be an amazing step to encourage new players with the onboarding process, because who would want to miss the chance of earning free playable NFT cards for free.
With these 2 recent updates, splinterlands has successfully created a whole new level of hype among players and as expected, it brought increased traffic and more onboarding. But who would have thought they would drop another big ol’ bomb so quickly, while the players were already too busy coping with these 2 big updates? Yes, I am talking about the brand new Frontier mode that was introduced in the game just recently and surely nobody would have expected another big play mode to launch so quickly.
When I discovered the Frontier mode, I was really excited to see all the features that this brand-new mode provides. Most importantly, this mode only supports foundation-level cards, which, of course, you can get for free by playing the game. So this particular mode is totally free-to-play, no need to buy or rent cards and pour your money, as this new mode only asks for skills and strategies and doesn't give an upper hand to those with a gigantic card collection. So I am expecting that this particular mode will be the main playground for those who love to play the game but can't afford to invest a lot to either own a lot of cards or rent them. Thanks, splinterlands, for caring for this player segment and I am very sure that this brand version will become the best method and work as an irresistible hook to catch New players easily, introducing them.
Now, for me, this brand new gameplay update has again sparked something in me and I have again been playing the game actively. I always love to collect cards and assets in splinterlands, but due to my limited financial power, I couldn't keep up buying all the new edition cards continuously to stay competitive. Hence, nowadays I am renting out my card collection and SPS and earning passive income through it. Its no doubt that splinterlands is one of the top web3 games right now and many good players earn a good amount of money through competitive playing. But in order to reward players and run the game, the game needs to generate money as well and they do it via launching new edition packs and cards, just like the newest Conclave Arcana edition packs or the Yaba’s Pickle card.
However, with this Frontier gameplay update, splinterlands has clearly proved that they also care for the players who don’t have deep pockets to keep buying cards but love the project and want to engage. In this gameplay mode, you would just need foundation cards, a bunch of which you get by just opening an account in this game and after the campaign mode update, you can also earn a lot of these kinds of cards by simply playing the Campaign mode. So, just like many of you, I have also started preparing myself for this new frontier mode. The first step that I took was to complete the campaign mode, which I finished today and gladly filled my collection with a bunch of brand new foundation cards. These cards will help me to start my adventure in this awesome new mode and as I continue playing and progressing, hopefully my foundation card collection will also increase. Let’s see how it goes and I will share my experience with Frontier mode soon with you all. Until then, keep playing and growing.
I hope you enjoyed reading my post about Campaign and Frontier mode. Let me know your thoughts about this monster in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.
