Splinterlands | PORTLY CANNONEER is truly a great Ranged monster

Hello Splinterlands fam!

I guess all of you are enjoying an amazing day with your family and friends and also hustling in this awesome game in your daily free time. Now, for those who are actively playing in this ongoing splinterlands ranked season, I guess you all have your eyes attached to the screen and playing those battles with full concentration, because as of writing this post, only 3 days and 18 hours are left for this current season to end. So whatever goals you all are chasing, whether it is to reach your goal League Tier or to secure a spot in the top 50 leaderboard positions, all the best from me and I hope all of you reach there within time. But, the faster you accomplish your goal, the better it is, because the season-end bloodbath has already started and most of the splinterlands players are getting super active and throwing in all the weapons from their arsenal.

Now, for me, I am renting out all my cards, including the newest Conclave Arcana cards as well and earning DEC as rent fee in return without any hustle. If you are not actively playing the game but happen to own assets in the form of cards and SPS tokens, you can easily list them for rent and earn passive income in the form of DEC. As you can see from the screenshot above, currently the total valuation of my Splinterlands Cards is around 4,585$ and the total CP (burn value) that my card collection holds is over 1.23 million. As of now, I am earning approx 1940 DEC per day out of a total of 2430 DEC listed price and no doubt it is helping me to increase my DEC balance without doing anything. Hopefully, as wagon staking will be live soon and more people will stake their cards in wagon to start producing airdrop points and if that reduces the number of cards for rent in the market, the demand for cards on rental market will rise and I would earn more DEC from my cards, but let’s see how it goes irl.

Now coming back to the main topic of this post, today I will be talking about another amazing Conclave Arcana card with you all and as you have already seen it in the thumbnail above, today I will be showcasing the PORTLY CANNONEER. So, if you are interested to know more about this card and how it will help you in battles, let’s take a dive without any further ado.

Portly Cannoneer

Portly Cannoneer is a monster type card that was introduced in the game with the launch of the newest Conclave Arcana edition card set. This card belongs to the Fire element and comes from the Dwarf bloodline. By rarity, it is a common type of card, so you would need a total of 400 BCX cards to be able to upgrade this monster to its max level. This monster only costs 4 mana to be used in battles, so you can easily choose this card in your lineup when playing small to medium mana limit matches or getting matches with the Little League ruleset. Taking a look at this card’s stats, this card's attack type is Ranged and it comes with a large bar of health and decent speed, but no armour even at max level. Apart from that, it also carries 3 very useful abilities at its max level, which I will be shedding light upon later in this post. Let us now take a deep look into its league wise stats and abilities to find out more.

BRONZE

At level 3, this monster card possesses 2 ranged attack power at 2 speed with 3 health and it also gets an ability since its initial level called Inspire. Even at bronze league level, this card seems powerful because both of its 2 ranged attack, which can put a dent even on Shield ability enemy cards and its Inspire ability which will give more firepower to its allied melee monster units.

INSPIRE - Monsters with this ability provide +1 melee attack power to all allied units.

SILVER

As you upgrade this monster further to level 5, it gets the same 2 ranged attack power at 2 speed but with an increased 3 health. Not only that, but it also gets a new ability at this level called Return fire, for which it now suddenly becomes an anti ranged card and very useful to use against enemy ranged monsters.

RETURN FIRE - Monsters with this ability return 50% of the damage to athe ttacker (rounded up) when hit by a ranged attack.

GOLD

When this monster gets upgraded to level 8, the stats of this monster increase further with 2 ranged attack at 3 speed with 5 health. However, though both of its health and speed stats gets increased a but more, it does not get any new abilities at this level.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you successfully upgrade your Cannoneer to its max level of 10, it receives further updated stats of 3 ranged attack power at 3 speed with 5 health. Not only that, but it also gets another new ability called Fury at its last level. Now you have a monster with a big 3 attack power that can kill weak monsters with just 1 blow, a large 5 health bar that can endure multiple attacks and a decent 3 speed which will help it to attack faster.

FURY - Monsters with this ability deal double damage if the target monster has the Taunt ability.

Last but not least, for just a 4 mana card, I think that only the stats alone justify enough for this card and adding those 3 awesome abilities on top of it, make the card a powerful choice and a worthy card to get a place in your collection. What do you think?
