Splinterlands Land 1.75 Update | A Game-Changer for Players

Hello Readers,

Well, I hope that you have heard about the upcoming massive Splinterlands update already, but for those who don't know yet, the long awaited Splinterlands Land 1.75 update is finally arriving on March 18th and not to mention that this omega level update is about to revolutionize land ownership, resource management and in-game items trading within the game. First of all, do not take this update lightly, as it is not just a minor patch, but rather a fundamental evolution of the existing Splinterlands economy. With this upcoming Land update everything is about to change including adding new resources, liquidity pools and enhanced gameplay mechanics that will impact both landowners and regular players.

So, if you have been waiting for an opportunity to maximize your land’s value, strategize better and of course to earn more, then this might be your moment. So, in this post, I will be talking about everything you need to know about the Land 1.75 update and why we need to prepare right now. So if you are interested, let us take a leap of faith right into it without any further ado.

What Are Lands in Splinterlands?

Lands in Splinterlands are more than just virtual plots, they are an expansion of the Splinterlands universe and the foundation of the game’s future economy. Till now, Lands are used to produce grain and SPS by staking your cards and other in-game items like totem etc but with the upcoming update in Lands, it will introduce new crafting materials that will be essential for creating powerful items and abilities. Right now as we are playing the game, battles on Splinterlands solely rely on card stats and abilities alone, but with this future updates, battles will become more dynamic, requiring strategic item crafting and skill usage, which will definitely change the entire gaming experience for us.

When it comes to implementing successful mechanics in Web3 games like Mir4 and Night Crows that we recently experienced, which have introduced multiple in-game tokens to encourage long-term engagement. Splinterlands is also following the same path by making resources a core part of progression, increasing the game’s complexity while ensuring long-term sustainability. Hopefully with this gigantic upcoming update, players and investors will be engaging in the game with a much more deeper level.

Key Features of Land 1.75

  • New Resources - 3 new resources will be added in the game - Wood, Stone & Iron.
    • Wood, Stone and Iron will become important materials for land development and production after the update.
    • Terrain type - The terrain type will become much more important and certain type of resources will be easier to produce depending on the land type. So our worksites built on these Lands will be more terrain dependent.
    • Any Grain plot on incompatible terrain will automatically convert to Wood, Stone or Iron upon first harvest after the update goes live. This will ensure that every Land Plot stays valuable after the update and don't become a liability.

• Production Rates Per Production Point Per Hour.
• Grain – 0.02 (no change)
• Wood – 0.005
• Stone – 0.002
• Iron – 0.0005

If we look at all these new materials, they will be much rarer than Grain and harder to accumulate, making them highly valuable in the market because of the limited supply. Please note that these new resources will be required to generate Research and SPS as well.

Liquidity Pools & Resource Swaps

Splinterlands team is working hard to build A True Player-Driven Economy that will be sustainable for long-term. One of the approaches to make it possible to bring more value and usability in Liquidity Pools.

• New DEC Liquidity Pools (LPs) will be introduced for Wood, Stone and Iron, which will allow players to trade resources freely.
• Players will be able to swap resources directly after the update to maintain balance in their land production.
• LP providers will be earning fees, turning liquidity management into a new earning strategy.

There will also be a new fee-tracking toggle tool, which will allow players to monitor total pool fees and individual earnings with precision.

Gameplay & UI Improvements

Along with all these upgrades in the existing Land mechanics, the entire gameplay and the land UI will also get an entire new makeover to achieve a faster and smarter Land Management.

• New Map Filters will make it much easier than before to see what resources your land supports.
• Totem Fragments can now only be found in Research Huts, Castles or Keeps, so no doubt this change will be making these plots more valuable.
• New UI icons for Type, Geography and Rarity make navigation more intuitive and engaging for players and investors.

Why You Should Act Right now

• There will be no stockpile of Wood, Stone, or Iron during the launch.
• If your land produces Research or SPS, you will need Wood, Stone & Iron for your first harvest.
• If you are already been producing resources on Land, be sure to claim your SPS and Grain before March 18th to ensure a smooth transition into the new economy.

Land Market

Now, especially if you are a new soul on Splinterlands thinking to kickstart your journey in Land, the first question that will arise in your mind is how much will it cost to get started. Well, if you are seriously interested and considering investing in Splinterlands land, I think right now might be the best time to do so, before prices rise with the new update. If we take a look right now, the current land prices on the Peakmonsters marketplace are stated below.

Land Plots

• Common Land (Grain Farm) – $12
• Rare Land – $18
• Epic Land – $70
• Legendary Land – $200

Totems

Totems are Hidden Power Boosters that increased your land production rate, as these in-game items provide huge bonuses to resource production, making them just as valuable as land itself. Current Totem prices are stated below.

• Common – $8.45
• Rare – $69
• Epic – $300
• Legendary – $1,750

Without a doubt, as the Land 1.75 Update is about to hit Splinterlands soon, With this groundbreaking update, making resources will be scarcer and hence more valuable and as expected, the current prices for both Land Plots and Totems could increase significantly from here.

Last but not least, we are about to witness an entirely new era for Splinterlands Landowners, as this upcoming Land 1.75 update is more than just an upgrade to the existing Land mechanism, it is a major turning point for the Splinterlands economy and gameplay. By introducing scarce resources like Wood, Stone and Iron, new liquidity pools including these new resources and a deeper land management, the upcoming update will be nothing less than revolutionary and will definitely reward strategic players who prepare early. So no matter if you are a land owner, a strategic investor or just getting started on Splinterlands, make sure to be prepared before March 18th, because that is the date for the beginning of a new chapter in Splinterlands.

Game is heading in a different direction. Let's hope it doesn't deviate too much from the core idea, Card based battles.

Card battles will always be there, but the splinterlands universe needs expansion and diversity to keep us engage and give more use-cases to cards and other in-game items in order to thrive long term. !BBH !pimp

Hmm, if you put it that way it's sounds nice. But my only concern is if the game start pushing the users towards the land based activity for having a chance at winning in battles.. but let's see what's SL has to offer.

i think land is too costly and complex to be a direct competitor to the base game. ITs for the OG's, the card whales, and players who are genuinely interested in investing in idle resource management. The base game is far more accessible and gives instant entertainment. Plus like mango says, eventually land production will produce enhancements for the base game to increase options for player strategy. If no-one is playing the base game, no-one will buy the land-produced items, so no-one would bother farming land. We need the card battles to thrive for land to be successful long term.
Edit: Ive just realised what you meant by your comment. Hmm. I guess land whales will have a strategic advantage in the base game because they will be able to hold back certain produced items, or use them for their own battles. You are right to be concerned about that. We will have to see how it plays out, and what measures might be taken to mitigate any problems that arise.

Correct OG players shouldn't be punished for sticking to the card based strategies. And TBH adapting to new games mechanics is very annoying. For example when they switched the EOS rewards system from chests to glints. I went offline for a while 🤣. It took me awhile to accept the changes.
