Splinterlands | Have you Tried the Ahonex.com auction tool?
Hello Splinterlands fam!
Guys, if I am being honest, the brainwork for keeping up with all these new features and upgrades in Splinterlands lately is so much that it feels like chasing a bullet train. From new special card releases like the voucher only Tasoshi Drakamoto or Yaba’s Pickle to land 1.75 update and in-game economy and UI updates, it’s been a lot of announcements to grasp lately. But besides all that excitement, something really gigantic just dropped regarding the game, which I think is worth mentioning. It is actually a new tool that might change the way we all buy, sell and value our assets in the game. As you have seen above, it is a popular website called Ahonex.com, and trust me, this is not just another normal marketplace for Splinterlands. So, no matter if you are a Splinterlands card collector, a land holder or just some player casually flipping NFTs on the side, Ahonex is offering something to all of you that Splinterlands has never seen before, a full-fledged auction house, where you call the shots. So, let’s break it all down without any further ado.
What Exactly Is Ahonex?
Ahonex.com, in layman’s terms, is like the eBay for Splinterlands, but way smoother and 100% curated specially for the game. It is actually an external website built by players and for players, where you can auction your own cards, land plots or other in-game items in real-time and let the community decide their value.
Here on this website, you don’t just sell your Splinterlands assets; you also watch as others bid on your listed assets in the auction. Here you can feel the rush in real time of watching your asset climb in price as other people Bid. Also, you can just set a “Buy Now” option on your listed asset if you want to skip the drama and sell it with a fixed price.

Founders
This Splinterlands tool website is created by long-time developer @yaziris and our very own @aggroed—the OG himself. Anyway, the Ahonex website is continuously gaining popularity and is soon to be a potential milestone for the Splinterlands economy.
Why an Auction House?
If you are a card or other asset owner in Splinterlands, then you must have looked at some of the cards in your deck and questioned yourself if and for how much this card would have sold. In a normal case, you would just list a card with your own price and wait for it to get sold, but if the market’s quiet, your card can take an unbearable time to get sold. Maybe rarely but possibly, sometimes there will be no buyers in sight for your listed asset, or maybe, just maybe, it’s way less valuable than what you think of your asset, and someone out there is ready to place a reasonable bid for it but isn’t matching your price. Here comes the Ahonex and fixes this problem. It gives your Splinterlands cards and other items a stage, a spotlight or in simple words, it’s a place where the value of an asset is not just listed, but discovered.
For Buyers
Here is a small and compact guide on How to hunt for Deals Like a Pro if you are a collector or investor looking to score big. Here’s your roadmap to follow
- Log into Ahonex.com using your HIVE Keychain.
- Go to the "Browse Auctions" tab.
- Use filters to search by card edition, foil type, item category and more such options.
- Click on any card or item to view its
- Current bid history
- Seller details
- Card level and rarity
- Auction end time etc.
As shown is the screenshot, I have searched for both the Black foils and their arcane foils and found 2 cards on auction for the given foil types. So, here you simply get the full picture before dropping a single DEC token. And the best part of this website is that here, the bids start at zero, unless the seller chooses to set a preferred starting price.
For Sellers
In Splinterlands, Your Cards mean your price and your rules, and selling on the Ahonex website is as easy as it is exciting. Here's what you will get here:
- Go to the “List Item” tab once logged in to the website using keychain.
- Pick a card, soulkeep, land plots or other inventory items from your collection.
- Set your filters:
- Starting Price (optional)
- Reserve Price (minimum amount required in bid to sell)
- Buy Now Price (for instant sales)
- Auction Duration (from 1 hour to 7 days)
Fees
Listing fee - 250 DEC per card
Successful auction fee - 5% of the final sale price
In case you are interested but not having trust, then don’t worry, if the auction does not meet your Reserve Price, the card is safely returned to you as programmed.
The First 100 as completed
As of this writing this post, Ahonex has completed almost 3 digits of successful auctions, so the 100-mark is right just around the corner. Now, for some, that might not sound like a huge number yet, but remember, this is just a fresh new project at its beginning phase and successfully processing auctions. Now this auction thing is new to many of us, so as players are slowly adapting to the new system, and with every successful sale moving forward, the trust in the platform grows.
Improvements Are Real and Ongoing
When the Ahonex project first launched, expected, there were a few drawbacks including some UI quirks and few bugs here and there which are normal. But thanks to feedback from the active community and the dedicated team members of the project, some visible improvements are already happening as follows.
- The filter system has been reworked.
- Search options now include the necessary options like editions, foils and item types.
- The user interface looks much cleaner and easier to navigate.
Even the bugs that popped up in the early stages are now mostly gone. One of the founders, @aggroed, confirmed that several points of the launch issues have already been resolved, and as announced by the team, more detailed work & polishing is on the way. The development team is not stopping at just making the site more functional. Nope, they are actually planning to add features that turn Ahonex from “just an auction site” into a everything app for Splinterlands. Here are some points of what is cooking right now:
- Creative bidding incentives
- Anti-sniping tools to handle last-minute bid wars
- Features that make auctions more competitive, fun and nail bitingly intense
Last but not least, the website has found an attractive way to bring the auction thing into mainstream again. With splinterlands, it may go a hit because there are a lots of card owners and potential buyers out there to be served. I am also curious about how this thing actually feels and thinking to try testing auction on my black foil cards. Let’s see how it goes…4

Sure looks promising, although I've seen complaints already on bot snipping for 0.001 dec. Hope it gets solved if it's true, after all they're on a very early stage!
Yes, they are still too early to judge I think, but the idea is solid and hopefully, they will work it out to bring us a polished and bug free UI.

I'm going to give it a check! I used to buy and sell stuff on eBay and I've always found it a very useful and convenient tool, so I think I might like this new site for SPL :)
It's always great to see new apps and sites being developed by fellow Splinterlands' players!
achei bem interessante e pratico, eu estou testando algumas das ferramentas.
It's a cool idea, and I hope it gets more adoption, but it's not a great way to sell cards. It's a great way to buy cards, though. I am still annoyed that I ended up selling a black foil arcane card for only 160k DEC and the person who bought it sold it for $500. Most of the auctions are from the accounts associated with the site.
That said, they keep making improvements. I think that once more people start using it, it will be a lot better.
