Hello Splinterlands fam!

I hope you all are doing well in life and enjoying the day with your loved ones. Now looking at Splinterlands, both the ranked and frontier seasons have ended just recently, and I hope those of you who played in both of these last ranked seasons have already claimed your Glint rewards and checked if you have won any rare foundation cards from the raffle. As usual, another fresh season has started already in both ranked and frontier and it’s time again to jump in and showcase your collection and best skills and give your opponents a hard time while maintaining a pretty win rate, and that’s what we have to focus on right now. So, for those of you who have already set a goal for the ranked season and started working on it, whether it is to enter a particular league tier or to hold a position in the champion leaderboard, all the best and I hope you reach there quickly this time. For Frontier players, obviously, the most important thing is to collect all the missing cards, especially epics and Legendaries, while upgrading your archons and lower rarity cards. So, be sure to be active every day and utilise the battle energy to score more reward wins and get your hands on more of those foundation cards.

Now, looking at my own performance in Frontier mode, the luck didn't shine for me in the last frontier raffle, just like all the previous ones, even when I earned way more entries in this last frontier season. As I shared in my last post, I earned a total of 32 Frontier Raffle entries in the last season, and I was really happy about it. Thanks to my consistency, I was able to upgrade 3 of the archons to level 2 and also upgraded a handful of monster cards to level 3 and 2, and together they are helping me a lot to boost my trophy count with better win rates. Last season, I reached the Silver I league tier for the first time and even now, I am only down by 100 trophies and playing at the Silver II league tier. However, although I haven't won in the raffle, my foundation card collection is growing at a gradual pace, and I am now earning 3-4 cards per reward claim. I have also shared all 3 rewards from today’s daily mission and as you can see, with the last mission reward, I got so lucky and received 1 epic and 1 rare card.

Now, moving forward to the main topic of this post because today, I will be showcasing another amazing Conclave Arcana monster with you all. As you have already seen in the title and thumbnail above, today I will be talking about the Fenmoor Wood Troll. So, if you are interested in knowing more about this card, then let’s take a dive without any further ado.

FENMOOR WOOD TROLL

Fenmoor Wood Troll is a monster type card that was introduced in the game with the launch of the CA edition card set. This monster belongs to the Earth element and comes from the Bruteborn bloodline. By rarity, it is a common type card, so you would need a total of 400 BCXs of cards to upgrade this monster to its max level. To use this monster in battles, you need to spend a whopping 10 mana, so this monster is suitable for only large mana limit matches. The attack type of this monster is ranged and apart from a high attack power and an almost impenetrable armour + health combo with high speed, this monster also features 4 very useful abilities at its max level, which I will talk about later in this post. Let us now take a further look at this card’s league wise stats and abilities to find out more.

BRONZE

At level 3, this monster possesses 2 ranged attack at 3 speed with 3 armour and 8 health, along with 2 abilities - Wingbreak and Blind, both of which it gets from its initial level. Even at the bronze league level, this monster seems so powerful and also comes with an awesome anti-flying ability, so you can use this card both as a defense and to hunt down flying units as well.

image.png

WINGBREAK - Always target the first flying enemy monster unit regardless of positions, abilities or modifiers. +2 damage if the target has flying.

image.png

BLIND - All enemy Melee and Ranged attacks have a 15% higher chance of missing their target. Blind also affects units with Phase.

SILVER

When this monster gets upgraded to level 5, this monster’s stats get increased a bit, as now it holds 2 ranged attack at 4 speed with 2 armour and 9 health. Not only that, but it also gets a new ability at this level called Headwinds, which is a pure anti-ranged ability and really helpful to oppress ranged attacks.

image.png

HEADWINDS - -1 ranged attack power to all enemy units.

GOLD

As you upgrade this mobster further to level 8, it receives 3 ranged attack at 4 speed with 3 armour and 9 health, along with those 3 abilities that I mentioned above. Though it does not get any new abilities at this level, its increased stats, especially the attack power, will help you take down enemy units faster.

DIAMOND / CHAMPION

Finally, when you upgrade this gigantic monster to its max level of 10, it possesses further increased stats of 3 ranged attack power at 4 speed with 5 armour and 10 health. Not only that, but it also gets another new ability at its max level called Affliction, which will help you take away healing abilities from enemy units.

image.png

AFFLICTION - 50% chance to apply Afflicted after a successful attack. Afflicted units cannot be healed.

Last but not least, I think this particular monster is carefully designed to be used in large mana battles. Its health + armour combo is almost impenetrable and would consume multiple big attacks alone, while your other attacking unit will do its job. Upon that, its high firepower will help you take down enemy units faster, while its abilities will give you an upper hand in battles. So, to dominate high mana limit battles, I think this monster deserves a spot in your arsenal. What do you think?

I hope you enjoyed reading my post about the FENMOOR WOOD TROLL monster above. Let me know your thoughts about this monster in the comments section below, and I look forward to seeing you all in my next post.

Hello.

I like "Fenmoor Wood Troll" because it has a large arrow, excellent health, good speed, and armor.
Its "Wingbreak" ability allows it to deal more damage to flying enemies.
Its "Blind" ability reduces the effectiveness of enemy attacks.
Its "Headwinds" ability allows it to reduce enemy ranged attacks by -1.
Its "Affliction" ability allows it to neutralize enemy healing.

Nice post, my friend.😀

You spotted all that this monster has to offer, cool observation, my friend. The one thing I like the most about these traits is the Headwinds, which makes it a pure anti-ranged card.

I'm a complete newbie - 3rd season and I sometimes use it. It feels like it should be good but sometimes I wonder. using the Elf archon that gives you -1 magic it is sometimes better to go full elf so that you get a board full of executes. Probably different at greater than newb level though. ;D

Just think what your opponent would use against you and choose your weapons accordingly. If you think more magic monsters will appear against you, go with Elf Archon and if you think ranged monsters will attack you more, you may choose this Wood troll ;)

The stats of this card are amazing, although the stats obtained at level one seem a bit low considering the 10 mana cost and due to such a high mana cost, it will not be useful in low mana bottles, but yes, if it is gradually taken to higher levels, then it can become one of the top performing cards. :)

Well, it's a very high mana card, so there's hardly any chance you can use it in low mana limit matches. However, if you get a match with the close range ruleset and want to go one man army style, you may try using this as a solo monster, which would be a show worth enjoying!
