Splinterlands | CANARY KEEPER is an overpowered 2 mana card
Hello Splinterlands fam!
I hope you all are doing great in life and enjoying the day with your family and friends. However, for Splinterlands players, it is high time right now, because if you take a look at the season timer, there are only 5 days and 19 hours left for this ongoing ranked season to meet its end. As expected, most of the players are pretty busy right now chasing whatever goals they have set for themselves for this season, whether it is to reach a league tier or secure a position in the champion leaderboard. So if you are also a fellow splinterlands player and pouring all your efforts into the game, cheers and I hope you complete your mission before the season ends. Now for daily players, I guess you have already noticed the brand new User interface in the game including new images and graphics work and moreover, this new UI will not only bring you a better experience while playing the game on a desktop but will also while browsing the game via mobile devices, which was a much-needed update as many of us prefer to play the game on mobile or tablet. So, thanks to the splinterlands team for their effort and solving another problem and making the game better.
Now coming back to the main topic, today I will about to showcase another eye-catching Conclave Arcana card with you all and as you have already seen it in the thumbnail above, today we will be talking about the CANARY KEEPER. So, if you are interested and want to know more about this monster, let’s take a dive without any further ado.
CANARY KEEPER
Canary Keeper is a little dwarf-looking mystic creature who comes from the Kobold family ( I am sure you still remember the old Kobold Miner) and they are the first to go and inspect the deadly mines of splinterlands with only a caged canary bird in their hand. The canary bird can detect danger early and the keepers use these birds as a tool to measure safety. In the harsh terrains of splinterlands, especially in the mines of the great lowlands, things go south pretty fast and these Canary Keepers are always first in line. They are expandable, where more and more keepers are always ready to fill an empty spot if one goes missing. Such a terrible life, but that's what makes them more courageous and resilient.
Fortunately, I got my hands on some of these Canary Keeper cards when I opened my Conclave Arcana packs. During the presale, I bought a total of 417 Conclave Arcana Alchemy packs and opened them all as soon as pack opening went live and gladly, I got 14 Regular Foils and 4 BCX gold foil cards of this particular monster. As I am renting my Cards nowadays, I decided to level up my Regular foil cards and upgraded 2 level 2 cards from my regular foil stack, so that they get rented faster.
Now, looking at the detail of this monster, the Canary Keeper only costs 2 mana to be used in your battle lineup, so this monster becomes a very important choice for low mana limit matches or matches with Little Leagues ruleset. By rarity, it is a rare type of card, so you will require a total of 115 BCX cards to upgrade it to the max level. It belongs to the Fire element and comes from the Saurian bloodline. Its attack type is Ranged and respecting its mana cost, it comes with a decent speed and a good amount of health, along with 2 awesome abilities at its max level, which I will be talking about later in this post. Let us now take a further look at its league-wise stats and abilities to find out more.
BRONZE
At level 2, this monster card possesses only 1 ranged attack at 1 speed and 3 health, along with the Dispel ability, which it has received since its initial level. Though it has the lowest possible attack and speed at the bronze league level, the Dispel ability will make it up for you by weakening enemy magic monsters.
DISPEL
- Monsters with this ability remove magic buffs after a successful attack.
SILVER
Upon reaching level 4, this monster strengthens itself with more stats that will bring you serious help on the battlefield. At this level, this monster holds an increased 2 ranged attack power at 2 speed with 3 health along with the Dispel ability. Though it does not get any new ability in this league, its increased attack power can now bring more damage, including the monsters with shield ability.
GOLD
When this monster gets upgraded further to level 6, that’s where it gets boosted with even more raw power, because now it carries an increased 3 ranged attack power at 2 speed with 4 health. However, though its attack power gets increased significantly for a 2 mana monster card, it carries only 1 ability, the Dispel.
DIAMOND / CHAMPION
Finally, when you upgrade this monster successfully to its max level, it receives an even higher stat of 3 ranged attack power at 4 speed with a 5 health bar. Not only that, but it also finally gets another ability called Return Fire at its maximum level, which definitely increases its usability and aura even more.
RETURN FIRE
- Monsters with the Return Dire ability return 50% of the damage to the attacker (rounded up) when hit by a ranged attack.
As you can clearly see, for a 2 mana cost, this card literally feels overpowered at max level. The 3 attack power is already a big number for a monster that costs only 2 mana, but it also gets a good speed, a large health bar and 2 abilities on top of that. So this monster, according to me, can be a game changer and definitely earns a spot in your collection. What do you say?
