MOONKARTS | Season 19 Begins - My Strategy
Hello Readers,
If you are playing Moonkarts, then congrats as we have passed another ranked season in this game and a fresh new Season 19 has begun already. After practicing in single player mode for a while, I finally gathered enough courage to participate in Moonkarts multiplayer mode and started playing in the last ranked season 18. However, as I started playing the game recently and was inexperienced, I could not perform well in the last season, and somehow finished the season at 53rd rank on the leaderboard. But after playing my first multiplayer season in Moonkarts, I gained some experience and learned some new things as well which I believe will help me in my journey with this game.
Now, let us first take a look at this ongoing ranked season. If you don't know, every ranked season in Moonkarts generally lasts for 10 days and the current one started around 2 days ago and will end in the next 8 days. Within this time, players will race against each other and compete for the top places on the leaderboard. Depending on your place in the leaderboard at the end of each season and your total staked colony tokens, you will receive your rewards in the form of colony tokens. Now, in order to earn more from the leaderboard you have to focus on both your staking factor and ranking points. The more colony tokens a player stakes in his account, the more staking factor a player has and on the other hand, the better position he acquires in each multiplayer race, the better overall position he will acquire in the leaderboard and the more colony tokens he will receive in form of rewards.
Apart from the main ranked leaderboard, there is also another special leaderboard called Orbital leaderboard and in this one, you must have to collect at least 3 orbitals in a single race while playing in multiplayer. This is really hard, especially for beginners because you have to focus on 2 things at once while playing multiplayer race - lose opponents and also look for Orbital tokens while driving on those neon tracks. For me, I really find it hard and initially, I was focusing on collecting Orbital points but it affected my performance badly and I even started colliding with the barriers on both sides. Anyway, the best way to tackle this situation according to me is to practice hard on single player mode. In single player mode, you have to play extensively and memorize the exact locations of the Orbital tokens in different tracks, so that while playing in multiplayer mode, you know where they are actually located and drive your kart accordingly. Now this will take time but I think it's the most efficient way to rank up your name in both the leaderboard.
Now, looking at my own stats, I have been buying colony tokens from the Hive engine market and staking them up in my in-game account. As you can see from the screenshot above, currently I have a total of 15,393.25 Colony tokens staked in my account and my next goal is to stake a total of 20k colony tokens. The colony token is not only the in-game reward token for Moonkarts but it is also the Governance token for the Arcade Colony platform and as I said above, staking colony token is very important in Moonkarts game and it works similarly to staking SPS in Splinterlands, where the more tokens you stake the more rewards you generate by playing.
In Moonkarts, depending on how many Colony tokens you have currently staked in your account, your staking multiplier gets calculated and this staking multiplayer decides how much colony token you will earn from ranked matches, along with your position in that match. For example, look at the screenshot above where I finished a race against 2 other players in the second position. In this race, as you can see, my Colony staking multiplier is 14.65x, my Ranking Points received is 1048 Points, my Ranked Colony Reward is 0.56, On Track Colony is 0.05 and the total Colony token rewards that I received from this match is 0.63. Now, as not many players have started pushing yet, I luckily went to 24th rank only after playing a couple of matches but I do know I will get crushed soon by other players as the season moves towards its end.
After playing the multiplayer mode for some days, my initial experience is that in order to become competitive in this game, you must at least have a pretty good Kart, Driver and Engine Refinement cards in your inventory. In all the matches that I have played so far in Moonkart multiplayer mode, I have failed to secure first place even just one time, because I am racing with a level 1 Epic Kart and a level 1 Epic Engine card, while my opponents are using legendary karts. Now, I have a level 1 Quasar Sport Kart card which is an Epic card but still, its performance is pretty good and I think upgrading this card to level 2 or 3 will be enough to compete with level 1 Legendary Karts.
Moreover, power-up cards also play a crucial role in Moonkarts, especially the seep boosters, but due to their high fuel consumption, I am not using them in multiplayer for now and instead, I am staking all 4 power-up cards to generate fuel. But I have realized that soon I have to either upgrade my Kart or get my hands upon a Legendary Kart to chase the first place. So, it's time to start saving money again and hope I become able to purchase a legendary Kart soon.

Better invest in upgrading epic karts, in my opinion. Legendary karts cost a lot ($150 per BCX) while epic less than $10.
I am also confused, leg cards are super costly, my epic kart is performing decently good at level 1. Maybe I should focus in buying epic cards and upgrade !BBH !pimp
