Hello Moonkarters!

I hope all of you are enjoying the game and racing on those twisted asphalt race tracks with your blazing karts while enjoying the mesmerizing neon lighting. But if you are still unaware of this rising web3 game that is building hype on Hive blockchain and beyond, then you are seriously missing out on the real fun. Since the launch of Moonkarts, this game has been changing people’s view on crypto-based play2earn games with its attractive and engaging gameplay, whereas most other games in this sector are barely card-based 2D games ht dies reward crypto for playing but are mostly no fun to play or has the attraction to keep players hooked. Moonkarts is an arcade-style racing game that provides a complete 3D environment and gives you an authentic adrenaline rush while racing against other human players. Adding more to that, all the in-game items in Moonkarts including Karts, Drivers, Tech Parts, Accessories, Power Up, etc are digital assets or NFTs that hold monetary value and are owned by the players and investors and not the company. Players can buy, sell and trade these assets for crypto and also earn crypto based on their performance in the competitive Multiplayer mode. The gameplay mechanism and economy in Moonkarts game are carefully designed so that not only these in-game cards but the player’s skill also matters when it comes to overall performance in this game.

How to Build A Racing Setup

Now, talking about the gameplay, apart from a player’s skill which is an important aspect of competitive performance, the right combination of cards also matters in this game. So, in order to perform well in multiplayer mode and win races while competing against other players, you have to own a good combination of cards to be able to build a good race-worthy setup. Moonkarts has divided their cards into different parts of a car like Engine, Tires, Rims, Exhaust etc which adds to the overall stats of your setup, so a player must focus on each of these card parts along with Driver, Kart and Power-Up cards to be able to build the perfect racing setup for themselves. When you build your setup, each of these different types of card adds a certain amount to your setup stats and the aim here is to bring balance to your setup stats which includes different parameters like Health, Speed, Handling and Acceleration. Not to mention that if you focus on just one or 2 parameters and neglect the others, your performance may be affected while racing, because there are different types of tracks on Moonkarts and you can not outperform each of them with the same racing setup. So, even before you start burning out your tires on those asphalt tracks, you have to learn about these cards and setup combos.

My Racing Setup

Now talking about myself, I started playing the game recently and after practicing for a while in the single-player mode, when I finally gained some courage and decided to start racing against other players in multiplayer. I invested a decent amount in the game to buy 5 Centauri packs, 14 Script tokens (to generate Fuel) and a few cards off the market to begin my journey. I didn't expect anything from those 5 packs but after opening them all at once, I was really surprised and happy to receive 2 Epic cards, 4 Power Up cards and 1 Gold Foil Common along with some other Rare and Common cards. The best card that I got from this pull was a Quasar Sport Kart, an Epic engine and those 4 Power Up cards. Since then I have been using this Kart to play multiplayer races and let me first show my current racing setup below.

Well, first of all, I admit it's not one of those perfect or shiny and costly setups but for me, it is giving me a decent performance on the tracks. In the setup, I am using the Quasar Sport Kart card with the Driver card Aurora and looking at Tech Cards (Car Parts), I am using an Epic Engine Refinement and a Common Tire Alignment in my Kart. Now focusing on the Accessory cards, I am using a common Corner Demon Antenna Card, a Common Lite Burn Exhaust and a Rare Lite Glide Rim card.

No Power-Up Cards

Now, note that I am not using any Power-Up cards right now, though I have 4 of them. It’s because they consume a lot of Fuel when being used and on the other hand, they also produce a lot of Fuel when being staked with Script tokens in the Auto-Vault section. As I am only in practice mode learning and enhancing my skills in multiplayer mode, I have decided to keep those Power-Up cards in the staked form and produce more Fuel right now. As time passes and I become a good driver, then I will start practicing with Power-Up cards because they are really important in the game and make a big difference.

My Setup Stats

Now, let’s take a look at my current setup stats and as you can see from the screenshot above, here rate my setup’s stats:

  • Health - 76/250 (Low)

  • Speed - 218/330 (High)

  • Handling - 98/250 (Average)

  • Acceleration- 81/250 (Low)

As you can clearly see, I have focused on my Top Speed in this setup and then Handling and the stats for the other 2 parameters are comparatively Low. The main advantage of this setup is that you can do really well when driving on straight tracks and also with enough practice, you can also handle tight corners. But, the main issue with this racing setup is its acceleration which is way lower to become competitive. Now, this setup will do well when competing against other kart setups up to epic-level cards but when it comes to racing against Legendary Karts, I have failed to secure first place every single time. Now, obviously, all my cards here are only at level 1 and upgrading their levels by merging similar cards would increase my stats by a good margin and it is in fact my next goal in Moonkarts. However, with low Acceleration, it is hard to pick up speed even after a mild collision or using breaks in tight corners.

Fuel Consumption

Another good thing about this particular setup is that the total Fuel consumption for this setup when used in multiplayer mode is considerably lesser, as I only have to spend 42.25 Fuel per race and gladly, it doesn't hurt my Fuel production. Anyway, I am thinking of opening some packs in the near future and trying my luck if I manage to get any more Quasar Sport Kart cards or other rare cards and try new components or parts with the existing setup if the performance gets better. Let’s see how it goes!
