MOONKARTS | Earning Colony from Multiplayer and Growing my Stake
Hello Racers of Moonkarts,
I hope all of you are enjoying the thrill while racing through the neon coated asphalt race tracks of Moonkarts with your win hungry Kart and keeping yourself busy climbing through the trophy leaderboard and earning more Colony crypto tokens as a reward. Since its release, Moonkarts has proved itself as a rising crypto project and is stealing the show with its jaw-dropping 3D gameplay while running on Hive blockchain to provide state-of-the-art security and transparency for your bought and hard earned NFT Cards and Tokens. Most of the other play2earn games in this web3 space are generally boring 2D games, with most of them being built around card-based strategy games. But Moonkarts feels different, as I have never encountered such a full-fledged 3D Racing game in the entire web3 space. I discovered Moonkarts around 2 or 3 months earlier and since then, I have slowly become addicted to this game as I continue playing and engaging with this project. This game is built by the Arcade Colony platform and owned by our beloved Splinterlands Corp, which was my first green flag, but later, as I started playing races and building my racing setup, I totally fell in love with its token economy and NFT scarcity, reward distribution, and mostly the gameplay experience. Anyway, in this post, I will talk about my earnings on Moonkarts from the multiplayer mode and how my active playing is helping me to increase my Colony stake. So, if you are interested, let’s take a dive without any further ado
Let us first take a look at the ongoing ranked season in Moonkarts, and as you can see from the screenshot above, we are currently in season 21, which will end in around the next 4 days. Now, those of you who performed the best throughout this ongoing racing season will get their place in both the ranked and Orbital Leaderbaord accordingly. Now for rewards, based on your active Colony stake count ( both owned + active delegations) and your ranking points in a ranked season, you will receive a certain amount of Colony tokens as a reward, which will be staked in your in-game colony token wallet upon claiming. So basically, the more Colony token stake you have and the better you perform in both the Ranked and Orbital Leaderboards, the more Colony tokens you will earn from the season reward pool.
I have yet to play any match in this ongoing ranked season but played a handful of races in the previous season and luckily, I even won a race and secured the first place in one of those races, which I have shared in the screenshot above. Now, based on your active Colony token stake amount, you will be assigned a certain colony Staking Multiplier, which will be used to calculate your Ranking points and Colony reward for that race.
In ranked multiplayer mode, there are 4 different types of reward pools that you can earn by playing races in that mode. The highest amount of reward pool comes from Orbital pool (per season) with 20 Million tokens per season, Ranked Pool (per game) following the list with a season reward pool of 12.5 Million tokens, Track Pool (per game) at third position with 5 Million and Ranked season Pool (per Season) with 10 Million tokens. Together, these 4 different pools pay 47.5 Million Colony tokens per season to players. So you can clearly see, playing steadily and winning races in ranked mode not only allows you to earn from each race but also earn more from season end rewards.
How to Claim Multiplayer Rewards
While the ranked pool and track pool rewards are given out to players after each race, the Orbital and Ranked Leaderboard rewards are given to players after the end of each season. Now, these 2 rewards will not be added to your in-game wallet automatically, rather, you have to claim them first. To claim your orbital and ranked season rewards, follow the instructions below.
First, you have to open the Moonkarts game and then click on the ‘Notification’ button as shown in the screenshot above.
Upon clicking, it will redirect you to the Notification pop-up page, which will show all the messages you received, including the Rewards, each of which you have to claim by clicking on the ‘Collect’ button of each of those messages.
As you can see, I have not claimed any rewards since season 18 and thus, there are a handful of messages containing the rewards I earned from both the leaderboard rewards pools from 18 to season 20. Each message will have a heading to easily identify the reward origin (orbital or ranked leaderboard), and it will also show your position and Colony amount and the season number in which you won the colony tokens as a reward.
As you can see from the above screenshot, I won a good amount of colony tokens as a reward from these past 3 ranked seasons, though I only played a handful of matches and also don't own a high level racing setup. Glad that I decided to fill any Colony wallet with a decent amount, which has increased my Reward multiplier drastically, and I have decided to only keep increasing for now, unless I have at least 100k colony tokens staked.
Now, after claiming my colony rewards for the past 3 ranked seasons, I have collected a total of 2,335 Colony tokens. The amount really looks cool and also hits towards how much I can potentially earn per season if I manage to get a good racing setup and play daily to secure a good leaderboard position. I am right now working on my Racing setup and currently focused on upgrading my Epic rarity Quasar Sport car to level 2, for which I still need another 5 BCXs of cards.
Anyway, all the Colony token amount that I have earned from the leaderboard winning from last 3 season, I have staked all of these Colony tokens immediately into my in-game staking wallet. I am very positive about this token’s future and can’t waste this precious time to win and increase my colony stake while both the competition and price stay low. I already had 15,435 Colony tokens staked in my wallet and after reinvesting all my playing earnings, I now have a total of 17,774 Colony tokens staked in my wallet. My long-term goal with Colony is to get my hands upon 100k total, and as I have decided to play Moonkarts more frequently, I hope to see a decent increase in the reward amount in upcoming seasons.
Apart from the Colony token, one more thing that a Moonkarts player must focus on is the Fuel, which is an in-game token that is used to drive your kart in multiplayer races. This in-game token can not be bought or sold in the Hive-Engine market and can only be produced by staking Moonkarts NFT cards coupled with Script tokens. Now, for my strategy, I have staked the highest rarity cards. Also, just recently, after merging 5 x Quasar Sport cards into one, I am also staking that card in Auto Vault, which is now producing 70 fuel per day alone for me, so I am staking this card whenever I am not racing with it and earning Fuel. Right now, I have a total of 6241 Fuel in my inventory, which is enough to play 120 races consecutively at least with my decent racing setup. With Fuel, I have not set any goals and just want to have enough fuel so that I don't have to think about it while racing.
