Scars, Strength, and Sudden Showers of Love

Scars they say are the emblem of the battles we've won. I must be a three star general I guess.

Well, I'm supposed to talk about unforgettable experiences, top on my list is Life.

Surviving three major surgeries is no small feat, it’s a triumph written in stitches and strength. I carry the scar like a river of remembrance, etched from just beneath my chest to deep beyond my navel the legacy of three battles fought on the operating table.

These near death experiences helped me come to the realization that life is a gift we ought to hold firmly. Looking back I remember the injections, the drugs, the warm smiles of the student nurses, my inability to pass gas... A whole lot of experiences worthy of being turned into a Netflix series.

Why I can't forget it

I met beautiful souls during my stay at the hospital, people who helped me see life through a different lens. Just 1 of the surgeries I survived took my grandfather on a journey he never returned from.

What I've learnt

Life is a precious gift that must be treated as such. Also, you must learn to have the resilience to face the challenges thrown at you with a consciousness that you'd come out victorious. A battle you didn't win in your mind would be hard to win in reality.

From trickles, to showers, to heavy down pours, I've seen God's hand in my life through amazing people.

Another one worthy of note is the fact that I'm preparing for my wedding in a couple of weeks and damn I've been receiving credit alerts from my colleagues in volumes that makes me glimmer with delight.

Truth is they don't owe me anything and expecting that they'd do something because I probably did for them in the past or because I'm the life of the branch ( I say that to mean, I'm the comic relief that ensures to put a smile on everyone's face no matter how little) would have been a delusion.

Why I won't forget

The money is needed to sort some very pressing things for my big day.
Acts of kindness always get to me and I'd definitely want to do the same when an opportunity presents itself.

These are things I won't forget in a rush. They are unforgettable experiences that shape how I see life and how I'd continue to see life in the coming years.
