The Daily Commute Nightmare

Public transportation is the backbone of a thriving city.

This is a publication based on the suggested topic proposed in the Hive Learners community through their discord, which on this occasion is Public Transportation.

"Good public transportation is a sign of a civilized society"

The problem with public transport where I live has several ramifications.

Considering that I am in the capital of the country, this place has the main characteristic that there are many vehicles, a lot of motor traffic, so queues are a daily occurrence.

There is a lot of traffic and congestion.

On the other hand, despite being a country that produces oil, we have the disadvantage that various economic sanctions and the country's political problems have caused the price of oil to plummet, leading to shortages and regulations regarding gasoline service.

This results in long queues of people trying to refuel their vehicles, sometimes having to wait up to two or three days in a row due to the scarcity, leading transport units to charge excessive fares.

In general, these units are in poor condition, dirty, as costs have been dollarized, making it challenging to maintain them and provide good service.

Moreover, the prices of spare parts, tires, and other components have increased, making it uncomfortable for users to travel in these crowded units without air conditioning, especially for older individuals who struggle to find a seat.

The same issues are observed with the subway service, which has significantly deteriorated over time.

Passengers face long wait times for trains, which are often without air conditioning and in poor condition.

Furthermore, there is a rampant issue of street vendors within the subway system who sometimes engage in theft, leading to numerous incidents of robbery.

These are essentially the transport-related problems prevalent in my city.

I believe that if there were a financing program from a private company dedicated to improving public transport, a better service could be provided with justified prices.

This would offer users a higher quality public transport experience with amenities like air conditioning, comfortable seating, and well-maintained units.

Improvements could also be made to the stops, providing seating and shelters for passengers waiting for transportation, particularly beneficial for older individuals needing sun protection and a place to rest.

I hope that governments become more proactive and utilize their resources to benefit the people and citizens.

Honestly, I used to think that this kind of issue is only seen in my country Nigeria.... especially the queuing to buy fuel. That thing sucks🥲

In South America, especially in Venezuela, it is very common to see it. It is a problem, elderly people have great difficulty riding public transportation and generally there is no respect, they push us aside and despise us. That, among other things, I think is a factor that has become widespread throughout the world, very badly indeed.

That's really a bad one.
I keep thinking whether this kind of thing will ever end

Well, we, the elderly, are disposable, a burden for governments, and that is why they try to disappear us. A great lack of respect. That's why I try to do everything possible to fulfill my dream of going to live in the countryside, on a farm, alone, without being a burden on the government or anyone.

I think the bottom line is the answer to the transportation problem in any country:

I hope that governments become more proactive and utilize their resources to benefit the people and citizens

Good publication, a hug @manclar

Yes, one day the governments will do it, in the meantime, it is healthier for us to do like Pilar, and use our bicycles, or skates.

Although I don't know how much capacity a skating tree has, but I would like to see it 😁

For now, this is our means of transportation, and to tell the truth, I don't like it very much 😆.

Well, it seems like a bit of a murderer and abuser, I thought you would be in favor of something more ecological and humanitarian, like the flow of a river...

The problem is that when I move both in a vehicle and on a river, things don't usually go smoothly.

Well, there is the consolation that you have a strong covering to resist all the abuse, you are genetically protected to withstand that. 😂

Like you rightly mentioned, not only is fuel hike a problem of public transportation but even increase in spare parts.

It is an issue to be addressed, subsidies need to be created for spare parts, and that is the task of governments and businessmen.

Muy interesante su análisis de la problemática del transporte público. Creo que el ser humano tiene tal embrollo dentro de si que se las arregla para complicar hasta lo más sencillo. Gracias por compartir. Éxito.

Your analysis of the problem of public transportation is very interesting. I believe that human beings have such a mess within themselves that they manage to complicate even the simplest things. Thanks for sharing. Success.

Same with my country, Nigeria, too. Imagine being a country where we produce oil and still experience scarcity of it and price plummeting leading to the price of transportation skyrocketing. We only wish the government could help solve this issue so everyone would enjoy even a good public transportation.

These are tragedies to which these misrulers subject us. I wonder if one day our countries will get out of it. I honestly believe that the only way is to have different rulers, maybe it is time for the world to be governed by women (I mean this seriously), I think a serious change of mentality is needed, and femininity can save us.

Yea. Sometimes I do think what if women are given the chance to rule? Not because I am of the gender too but giving the mandate to women should be a trial to see how it turns out.

I would love for there to be a female president of the world, a woman who would make all the important decisions, and I think that in the future that will happen, I hope she is still alive to see it.
