Is Surrogacy the Future? A Transhumanist Perspective on Reproduction

"Ethical debates arise when science allows us to select traits, intelligence, and physical attributes in future generations."
This is a publication based on the suggested topic proposed in the Hive Learners community through their discord, which on this occasion is "Surrogacy".
Welcome to my blog, dear and avid readers. Today I’m going to talk to you about surrogacy. Starting from the concept that this is lending one’s womb to bring a new life into this world or doing it in vitro, I believe my thoughts on this are a very personal decision, as it is for anyone who chooses to get involved in this process. There are people in cultures that are very strict and don’t view this process favorably or don’t allow it due to their beliefs and religions, since it goes against or contradicts what is written in the Bible or their main religious books that dictate their norms. So, they can’t choose this option of having a child through unnatural or unconventional methods. This can even be classified as a sin in some religions since it must be conceived naturally. But I believe surrogacy is very valid when, for example, the woman who wants to be a mother has certain illnesses—liver problems, diabetes, high blood pressure—so in these cases, it’s very positive and viable for her to choose the option of having the child in another mother’s womb or having it through laboratory means. Personally, I wouldn’t get involved in these types of methods, mainly because I’m not someone who likes having children, so I wouldn’t take this option. But if I didn’t have that mindset, that reasoning, I’d surely choose the option of having the child in vitro with technology in a lab. Many already know that I’m a transhumanist, so as a good transhumanist, I’d be very inclined to have my child created in vitro. My reasons or arguments for this are that I find that doing it in vitro would give me more control—for example, the child or new life being developed could be resistant to more diseases, have the blood type I prefer, even the physical characteristics I’d like them to have, so that the species could continue evolving, my lineage under those conditions. And also, on the other hand, they could have a certain physical appearance—muscular, for example, hair with a certain type of texture, a certain eye color, according to my partner’s preference. So, this would be very interesting. Also, speaking of the intellectual side, it’d be very important for the child to have a tendency toward a high IQ, critical thinking. So, this would also be very interesting. Is this ethical? I consider it ethical as long as the people involved agree and aren’t breaking any laws—that everything stays within legal boundaries. As a transhumanist—and this is a very personal opinion—I believe this method should be favored over traditional birth because this would lead us to a more evolved society, with humans who have greater critical thinking capacity and are more skilled for different kinds of tasks. This would lead us to have people who’d be dedicated to certain tasks directly. We’d genetically be inducing—or, let’s say, even if it sounds harsh to say it—manufacturing humans who’d be destined for fieldwork, others who’d be destined to be artists, others politicians, because genetically we’d be preparing them for this through this kind of in vitro motherhood. So, I think it’d be quite interesting to be able to do this, whether through renting a womb or doing it in a lab. And if we’re talking about renting another mother’s womb, we’d choose the genes of people who fit what’s needed—whether it’s scientists, field workers, politicians, or whatever. I believe our society, with the technology and advancements we have today, should take this path. I know it sounds very dehumanizing, but I think it’s the solution the planet really needs. And I know many will criticize me for these thoughts, but I’m in favor of transhumanism and doing things this way. Leave your comments below, and have a great day.
In the long run as a species we will disappear, you only need to see how the planet is treated, destroying it little by little, polluting regardless of what the next generations will live, so the planet will exterminate us, all those earthly terremets that have been happening, the thaw of the poles and all that will continue to occur and increasingly increasingly increasingly increasing, habitual and climbing ...
You know @manclar that I am not a transhumanist, nor do I believe that the progress of humanity depends on technology, nor do I believe in genetic engineering. It is a pseudoscience that is poisoning the fields of the world.
Anyway, I'm not going to continue, I didn't come here to be a hater.
A big hug.
Tomorrow I vote for you, I'm dry.
But I enjoy when you becomes hater, on this occasion I wanted to discuss with you and give us some scratches and rams, not everything should be peace and love, I like us to be hurt.
