Welcome my new and old readers to my blog.

The topic this time is financial literacy.

This is a resource that is very important in the life of every person. Because in this world, when we become adults, obviously we will have to use the financial knowledge that we have to be able to live, to be able to maintain our profits, and be able to manage our resources much better.

How beautiful it would be to be able to live in a society as advanced as the Japanese one, where from an early age, children are educated in family economics.

In fact, it is the first thing that is taken into account when it comes to giving them education.
Because children in their first years of life learn to do different jobs in the domestic economy: how to clean the house, where to organize things, where to make the purchases, how to organize the purchases in the refrigerator.

And this kind of things that are mainly education for life are the basic pillars of a good citizen. That is why in Japan we have so many good citizens, and the community and society is so organized.

It is more than a cultural matter, a matter of tradition that has been inherited and has been inherited from generation to generation.

And that is why they are such a developed country.

But to talk about development, I am going to start by answering the first questions they ask us about this topic:

When did you first learn about financial education?

In my case, this happened when I was in my teenage years, when I realized that I really needed to have my own money.

That my parents did not give me resources to be able to sustain myself, and I needed my own money to be able to solve different expenses that I had at the time.

I remember with precision that several of my interests were or began to be the part of computer science and computing.

And I needed to acquire magazines, both video games that I wanted to buy, as programming magazines to learn to develop the skill. And I did not have the means to be able to do it because at that time I was a student.

When I decided, when I learned for the first time about financial education, it was when I was interested in looking for a job to be able to start generating income.

At the same time that I started with the world of surveys, I started to learn how to manage money, how to distribute the expenses, to have a financial plan, and to know how much I had to invest in passenger or transport, and how much I had to invest in food to go and do the surveys.

And what I had left was savings to be able to buy video game magazines and to be able to buy the video games themselves.

Also artefacts of technology that I wanted to acquire, like an mp3 player that was very fashionable in those days, and of course before that, a Walkman.

So all this well, it awakened my interest to learn about financial education, and above all because in these same video game magazines, they wrote articles about the subject, and I was learning.

This leads us to the second question:

How long did it take you before you understood it?

Well actually, in my case, it was a short time because I was learning very fast since this was a subject that interested me a lot: how to be able to multiply my earnings and manage my finances.

And I put a lot of interest in this, looking for alternatives.

I remember that within the alternatives that I invented was within the school itself, right? . Offer the service of selling games or renting games that I got and that I had for the Apple 2, and rented in the computer lab my floppy disk where I had those games.

And I remember that process of understanding how much it took me to understand how to generate those earnings and how to manage financially.

It took me about a month approximately, or maybe less. The truth is that it was a fairly fast process.

And I remember how much money I had at the time.

I had about $5, $6, but I still never boxed about.

Honestly, it didn't realize that money was priced at the time the tools to be able to develop in life.

At what time those lessons will have a deeper effect?

I believe that these lessons will be more useful when the person must go out to be worth by their own means.

Generally, this occurs in the adult life stage when they have a job and they have to be independent and live on their own, carry a house balance, and pay for their food, their means of transport, and all the bills.

And this only happens generally when the person marries and has children.

There are also other cases in which teenagers and children become independent at an early age; they emancipate, and then they learn these financial skills, this financial literacy, and all these lessons are very useful to them.

But generally, I believe that these lessons will have a deeper effect when people are already adults.

Of course, if you take the prediction that the person is educated in primary stages of their childhood, the effect it will have will be practically immediate because a person who is used to save and to have a financial literacy from an early age will have a quantity of savings quite important for his future when he is already an adult.

And this will make the path much lighter and more relieved.

Then he will have to face less amount of financial difficulties, and he will be able to lead a happier life.

So if they are intelligent, all those who go through this publication, educate your children at an early age in financial literacy, so that when they are a young adult, they have a much better life, much simpler and much freer.

A free life will allow you to be an exemplary citizen that will have time to create and dedicate themselves to make inventions in favor of the world.

And they will not have to dedicate their time, as many of us do today, to survive, generating money, worrying about generating money to pay for food, which is what happens to many people today, including the case of this server.

Thank you for reading, and see you in the next video.

Early education on financial literacy will go a long way to help avoid the "rat race", as Brian Tracy called it, when kids become adults. The Japanese system of doing that has always been a thorough and well planned way.

Yes, it takes a lot to make our societies in different countries stop treating us as "rats" and see us more as humans. Power struggles!

Thanks for your great comment.

Hi @manclar, the same thing happened to me, that I did not receive any financial education. Although I admit that something stuck with me: don't spend what you don't have. The topic of how to generate profits seems like they taught it in Japan.

A big hug @manclar.

The Japanese are very guided by honor, perhaps that is why they remain so faithful to these traditions of family economy, which are so practical and useful. Those of us who have not received financial education have developed a fairly impressive financial survival instinct ...

Hi @manclar, good point about the instinct. Life gives no respite and you learn from it, or you succumb.

Lamento el tema del ascensor, un abrazo
Muy grande.

yes, the instinct, the intuition...

It is good that they start with finances, and other activities for life, it makes things easier for adults, it helps to manage everything that comes up, if that was done in my country it would be great. I am teaching my daughters to save and other things for their performance, thanks for sharing.

Certainly, children must be prepared for life, financial education that is so important for them to learn to develop in the future.

Thanks for your valuable comment.

Japanese culture is excellent, very organized, and it's all about having a vision for the future. This is how countries that strive to progress, focused on education for life, are built.

They are very respectful and honorable, if I could go to live in a country, it would be Japan without a doubt, an advanced place.

I'm a fan of their culture 😃. (I want 😎 a Korean one). But talking about it, it's impressive how a upbringing can change the world.
