Story of expatriation: Reflections on Abu Hossain's life
How are you all, friends? I hope you are all well. Today I am going to share a story with you. This is not a story. It is the reality of an expatriate. I am sharing this story with you. I hope you can understand the pain and suffering of an expatriate through this story.
The story begins with a young man named Abu Hossain. Abu Hossain is an ordinary young man from a small village in Bangladesh. To overcome the financial crisis of his family, he goes to work as a laborer in a Middle Eastern country.
Initially, the foreign land was unfamiliar and difficult for him. The language was unknown, he could not speak properly since he was completely new to that country. On the other hand, the difference in culture, because he lived a different kind of life in Bangladesh, now the difference in this Middle Eastern country is a little surprising to him and his loneliness is constantly bothering him. Still, he endured everything in the hope of bringing a smile to his family's faces. He thought only one thing: I have to see my family happy, so no matter how much I suffer, I have to stay here.
Every morning, he would go out to work before sunrise and return home late at night. Even after working hard, he would keep a little of his earnings for himself at the end of the month and send the rest back home. He knew that this money would cover his children's education, his mother's medicine, and other family expenses.
However, the hardships of expatriate life were not limited to physical labor. He would stay away during Eid, Puja, or special family days. Hearing his mother's voice crying on the phone would bring tears to his eyes, but he always remained strong because he had another thought in mind.

One day, he learned that his younger son had come first in school. This news erased all his pain. He felt that his sacrifice had been worthwhile. He had always wanted to work hard to raise his children to be human beings, and his dream became somewhat meaningful when his younger son came first in school.
Abu Hossain's story is a reflection of the lives of thousands of expatriates. They sacrificed their comforts and conveniences and worked tirelessly for their families. Their sacrifice and love deserve the respect of all of us.
I will share the rest of this story with you in another post because finishing a story is not that easy. So I will try to finish this story in my next part.
