Siempre soy de las que voy por un café cuando me siento abrumada o triste, y la verdad es ese tiempo a solas con mi bebida favorita lo que me hace bajar la ansiedad y recuperar el equilibrio. Pero hay veces que aunque no estés mal, la vida te sorprende con mensajes que quizás no pediste, pero que de seguro estabas necesitando escuchar.

En mi paseo por la ciudad de La Plata, entramos a una heladería buscando algo para refrescarnos del calor que nos tenía sofocados a mi hijo y a mi, y pasando el umbral de la puerta, muchos mensajes estaban a la orden del día. Cada quien tomaba el que necesitaba o mejor le parecía. En mi caso, los tomé todos mientras esperaba que me despacharan lo que pedí.

Fue ahí donde encontré a un venezolano, quien era el que despachaba los pedidos, y por supuesto no perdí la oportunidad de hablar con alguien quien conoce la realidad de los que tuvimos que salir de nuestro país forzosamente. Eso, además de todos los mensajes escritos, reconfortó un poco mi realidad, dándome un empuje para seguir adelante.

Y como me queda muy lejos para volver, decidí fotografiar cada mensaje para tenerlo a mano cuando lo necesite. Si en tu caso necesitas alguno, siéntete libre de hacerlo propio, pues la vida aunque a veces resulte pesada, siempre valdrá el esfuerzo de vivirla.

I am always one of those who go for a coffee when I feel overwhelmed or sad, and the truth is that time alone with my favorite beverage is what makes me lower my anxiety and regain my balance. But there are times when even if you're not feeling bad, life surprises you with messages that maybe you didn't ask for, but that you surely needed to hear.

On my walk through the city of La Plata, we entered an ice cream parlor looking for something to cool off from the heat that had my son and me suffocating, and passing the threshold of the door, many messages were the order of the day. Everyone took the one they needed or thought best. In my case, I took them all while I waited for my order to be delivered.

It was there where I met a Venezuelan, who was the one dispatching the orders, and of course I did not miss the opportunity to talk to someone who knows the reality of those of us who had to leave our country forcibly. That, in addition to all the written messages, comforted my reality a little, giving me a push to move forward.

And since it is too far for me to go back, I decided to photograph each message to have it at hand when I need it. If in your case you need one, feel free to make it your own, because life, even if it is sometimes heavy, will always be worth the effort to live it.
