Un paseo al boulevard cerca de casa / A walk to the boulevard near home

A diferencia de las ciudades donde viví en Venezuela, acá en Argentina muchas de las zonas comerciales se ubican en calles transversales que tienen poca circulación de autos, o inclusive son cerradas los fines de semana para el disfrute de las personas.

Cerca de casa queda uno al que casi nunca voy, pues al ser mis salidas los fines de semana, casi todo está cerrado, a diferencia de otros, en los que hay lugares de comida rápida, o las vitrinas se pueden ver a través de las rejas de seguridad.

Justo hoy decidí darme una vuelta por este boulevard para buscar algunas de las cosas que necesito, y la verdad es que durante la semana tiene mucha más vida y cosas que ver.

Lo que solía pasar era que por no sacrificar mi tiempo de siesta, dejaba las diligencias para los fines de semana. Ahora, con tres días libres por las tardes, elegía irme a los sitios que ya conozco, así me quedaran más lejos de casa.

Encontré un par de supermercados express de las cadenas DIA y Carrefour que no sabía que funcionaban ahí, lo cual me parece excelente, pues en ambos hipermercados siempre tienen promociones que no aprovecho porque me quedan lejos de casa, en cambio al boulevard puedo llegar hasta caminando.

También aproveché para ver la oferta de calzados y poder comparar con los de las tiendas que usualmente visito para adquirir mis zapatos o los de mis hijos. Y es que el tiempo me dio hasta para curiosear en las tiendas de juguetes, aunque ya mi hijo pequeño no los usa, pero mi niña interna disfruta viendo las novedades de la industria.

Me gusta que tenga las veredas amplias, y que el tránsito, es poco, aunque un par de líneas de colectivo pasan por acá. Caminé bastante, y eso aunque no es una rutina de ejercicios formal, me funciona para evitar los dolores en rodillas y espalda.

Lo mejor, es que pude aprovechar el día de sol para recargarme de vitamina D, justo en esta temporada que se viene con mucho frío y humedad.

Unlike the cities where I lived in Venezuela, here in Argentina many of the shopping areas are located in cross streets that have little traffic of cars, or are even closed on weekends for the enjoyment of people.

Near my house there is one that I almost never go to, because since my outings are on weekends, almost everything is closed, unlike others, where there are fast food places, or the shop windows can be seen through the security gates.

Just today I decided to take a walk along this boulevard to look for some of the things I need, and the truth is that during the week it has much more life and things to see.

What used to happen is that in order not to sacrifice my siesta time, I would leave the errands for the weekends. Now, with three days off in the afternoons, I chose to go to the places I already know, even if they were farther away from home.

I found a couple of express supermarkets of the DIA and Carrefour chains that I didn't know operated there, which I think is excellent, because in both hypermarkets they always have promotions that I don't take advantage of because they are far from home, but I can even walk to the boulevard.

I also took the opportunity to see the shoe offerings and compare them with those of the stores I usually visit to buy my shoes or those of my children. I even had time to browse in the toy stores, although my little son doesn't use them anymore, but my inner child enjoys seeing the novelties of the industry.

I like that it has wide sidewalks, and that traffic is low, although a couple of bus lines pass through here. I walked quite a bit, and although it's not a formal exercise routine, it works for me to avoid knee and back pain.

The best thing is that I was able to take advantage of the sunny day to recharge my vitamin D, just in this season that is coming with a lot of cold and humidity.
