Un paseo a mi tienda favorita de electrodomésticos / A trip to my favourite electrical goods shop

Una de las cosas que aprendí a disfrutar ya de grande fue ir a los centros comerciales, aunque fuera solo a ver tiendas sin comprar nada, pues de adolescente me parecía que era perder el tiempo salir a solo mirar.

Pero como donde vivo actualmente no tengo ningún centro comercial cerca, cada tanto me paseo por la tienda por departamentos Coppel que queda a 5 minutos de mi casa, para ver las novedades, y ¿por qué no? soñar un poco.

En estos días de calor, entrar a una tienda con aire acondicionado es de por si una ganancia, y poder recorrerla sin prisa, la verdad me resulta divertido, sobre todo porque son dos pisos muy bien organizados en los que si sabes lo que buscas, puedes encontrarlo fácilmente.

Y aunque son cosas que quiero pero no necesito o no me son urgentes, empecé a hacer una especie de lista de deseos, empezando a decretar que esas cosas ya estarán en mi casa antes de que termine el año, sobre todo porque implican una comodidad para mi y mis hijos.

Lo principal: ¡Un televisor! pues con el tema de las computadoras, no le he dado importancia, pero considero que para las noches familiares, es bueno tener algo que nos reúna a los tres, en lugar de que cada uno esté frente a una pantalla por separado.

Lo segundo que llamó mi atención fue una freidora de aire, quizás motivada por las miles de reseñas que leo en el ecosistema de mujeres felices con un aparato como ese, pero también para que mi hijo menor se inicie en el arte de la cocina con menos riesgo que usando una estufa a gas, aunque obviamente estaré con él, guiando todo el proceso.

La olla vaporera también me hizo ojitos, sobre todo porque con mis nuevos hábitos alimenticios prefiero mis comidas al vapor o a la plancha, cosa que además me permite ahorrar en otros ingredientes extras como el aceite, que ahora casi implora que lo use en el gabinete donde lo guardo.

Finalmente, un sueño truncado desde hace mucho que es una batidora, y digo truncado porque de adolescente solía hacer muchos budines y bizcochuelos, pero tenía solo una de mano y yo quería una completa, para tener las manos libres para ir maniobrando mientras el aparato hacía lo suyo.

Con los años, dejé mis inventos en la pastelería, pero quisiera poder hacerles las meriendas a mis hijos y cumplir con esa meta que en su momento no logré hacer.

Obviamente pasé por las neveras, lavadoras, camas, juegos de muebles y demás, y me antojé ¡de todo! pero en esto hay que ir con calma, por lo que en mi lista de deseos solo están estos 4 productos, que iré adquiriendo progresivamente y luego les contaré.

One of the things I learned to enjoy as an adult was going to shopping centres, even if it was just to look at shops without buying anything, because as a teenager I thought it was a waste of time to go out just to look.

But since I don't have a shopping centre near where I currently live, every so often I stroll through the Coppel department store, which is five minutes from my house, to see what's new, and why not? To dream a little.

On these hot days, going into an air-conditioned shop is a bonus in itself, and being able to browse without rushing is actually fun, especially because it's a very well-organised two-storey shop where, if you know what you're looking for, you can find it easily.

And although these are things I want but don't need or don't need urgently, I started making a kind of wish list, deciding that these things will be in my house before the end of the year, especially because they mean comfort for me and my children.

The main thing: a television! With the computers, I haven't given it much thought, but I think that for family nights, it's good to have something that brings the three of us together, instead of each of us being in front of a separate screen.

The second thing that caught my attention was an air fryer, perhaps motivated by the thousands of reviews I read in the ecosystem of women who are happy with such a device, but also so that my youngest son can get started in the art of cooking with less risk than using a gas stove, although I will obviously be with him, guiding the whole process.

The steamer also caught my eye, especially because with my new eating habits I prefer my food steamed or grilled, which also allows me to save on other extra ingredients such as oil, which is now almost begging to be used in the cupboard where I keep it.

Finally, a long-held dream that has been cut short is a mixer, and I say cut short because as a teenager I used to make a lot of puddings and sponge cakes, but I only had a hand mixer and I wanted a full one, so I could have my hands free to manoeuvre while the appliance did its thing.

Over the years, I gave up my baking experiments, but I would like to be able to make snacks for my children and fulfil that goal that I didn't achieve at the time.

Obviously, I looked at fridges, washing machines, beds, furniture sets and so on, and I wanted everything! But you have to take it slowly, so my wish list only includes these four products, which I will buy gradually and then tell you about.
