No hypermarket. Mom we are in heaven! (Esp/Eng)

When we arrived in Argentina, 6 years ago, one of the things that surprised my children was entering a hypermarket. Their faces lit up as they saw all the variety of products available, especially because we came from a Venezuela where almost nothing could be found, and if it was possible, long lines were required that I refused to endure.

In our case, I used to go to small stores, substituting ingredients and inventing recipes. The fruit trees that grew in my backyard were a huge help, but obviously, the kids were drawn to what was new and different.

As we started walking through the aisles, looking for prices, deals, and more, they were already "trained" not to ask for anything, which although positive, I found somewhat sad because it felt like suppressing their desires. So, when we entered the cookie aisle, I told them: you can choose one package each, whichever you want.

Their incredulous looks brought a tear to my eye, and then my younger son asked me to let him out of the cart to go with his brother to pick what he wanted. The temptation for pastries was strong, but I asked them to pick something sealed to avoid eating it right away.

At that time, my older son asked me what the place we were in was called, as they were selling not only food, and I replied that it was a hypermarket, but I found it amusing when his response was, no mom, this is not a hypermarket, this is heaven!

Of course, giving them free rein to choose, after searching for cookies, they headed to the toy section, where they wanted to take everything! But there we had to set a limit, and remind them that we came for food, they could choose a toy another time.

In any case, we still remember when they both wanted to be Darth Vader and join the dark side of the force.

Kids are always crazy souls. whenever they enter any place they just look for toy section. Well, it's interesting to know about your one tour which you had 6 years ago to Argentina. I want to know more about it 😉.

this is not a hypermarket, this is heaven!

Oh, this was a sincere answer your son can give you! For them, seeing all those toys and food was a great surprise and heaven indeed. I remember when I was small and we went to such a place, I wanted a toy but my mom didn't (or couldn't ) buy it for me. I guess it was the same situation - we went for food so no toys that time.
