La sopa de la abuela / Grandma's soup

En las generaciones actuales, es muy frecuente ver el importante papel que cumplen las abuelas en la crianza de los nietos, ya que la necesidad de que las madres salgan a trabajar, ha hecho imperiosa su ayuda, además que contribuye también a la unión familiar, y en muchos casos, a mantener sus mentes funcionando luego de la jubilación.

Obviamente, es necesario que exista un equilibrio y que las madres no dejen toda la responsabilidad en los abuelos, pues este debe ser un trabajo colaborativo y no impositivo.

En estos días, mientras caminaba por Lanús (provincia de Buenos Aires), encontré este mural en un restaurante que me llamó mucho la atención, pues uno de ellos era la representación de una abuela alimentando a su nieto, y me hizo recordar cuando la mía procuraba deleitarnos con sus creaciones en los tiempos de vacaciones de mi infancia.

Este lugar,llamado "La cocina de Donata" ofrece una gastronomía diferente, pues va más allá de los platos populares y brinda a sus clientes la oportunidad de rememorar esos sabores propios del hogar.

En una esquina, otro mural contiguo representa un grupo de amigos compartiendo, y hasta un perrito esperando a ver si algo cae de la mesa para aprovechar y comer también.

Al estar contiguos, vuelve a mi cabeza el pensamiento de las muchas abuelas que han quedado a cargo de sus nietos, por distintas razones, y en cómo el amor es capaz de superar el cansancio producto de los años, todo con la intención de hacer de esos pequeños personas de bien, o en algunos casos, enmendar los errores cometidos con sus padres.

Pero también está el otro lado de la historia, de esas abuelas que cuando uno no quería comer lo que hacía mamá, preparaban cualquier cosa para complacernos aunque nuestras madres se molestaran.

Definitivamente estas ilustraciones hechas por "Barbaroja ilustraciones" no solo embellecen la ciudad y le hacen publicidad al local donde se encuentran, sino que también da para pensar en las realidades de cada quien, y en ver mucho más allá de lo evidente.

These days, while walking around Lanús (Buenos Aires providence), I found this mural in a restaurant that caught my attention, because one of them was the representation of a grandmother feeding her grandchild, and it made me remember when my grandmother used to delight us with her creations during my childhood vacations.

This place, called “La cocina de Donata” offers a different gastronomy, as it goes beyond the popular dishes and gives its customers the opportunity to remember those flavors of home.

In one corner, another mural depicts a group of friends sharing, and even a little dog waiting to see if something falls from the table to take advantage and eat too.

Being next to each other, the thought of the many grandmothers who have been left in charge of their grandchildren, for different reasons, comes back to my mind, and how love is capable of overcoming the fatigue of the years, all with the intention of making those little ones good people, or in some cases, making amends for the mistakes made with their parents.

But there is also the other side of the story, of those grandmothers who, when we didn't want to eat what mom made, would prepare anything to please us even if our mothers were upset.

Definitely these illustrations made by “Barbaroja ilustraciones” not only beautify the city and advertise the place where they are located, but also gives us to think about the realities of each one, and to see far beyond the obvious.
