Desde que me inicié en Hive, lo hice con una laptop usada que me donó una amiga antes de salir de Venezuela. Ella realmente me la prestó para las largas noches en vela que pasaba buscando las citas para las apostillas de los documentos y las citas para los pasaportes, que fueron un suplicio que me llevó casi un mes, pues mucha gente (incluyéndola a ella) estaba optando por los pocos cupos que daban a diario para estos trámites.

Yo los hacía desde la oficina y casi no tenía suerte, así que ella viendo mi desesperación me dio una laptop que había dejado para que su hijo jugara, luego de que la batería se dañara, así como también la tarjeta de wifi, pero con eso me ayudó un montón. Ya luego me dijo que me la quedara y que luego hablaríamos de precio, pero aunque seguimos en contacto, más nunca me pidió nada.

Al cálculo, creo que mi portátil debe tener unos 10 años o más, y funciona al estilo Frankenstein (una mezcla de varios dispositivos que le he ensamblado para mejorar su rendimiento) pues tiene teclado y mousse conectados por USB, además de un pendrive para tener wifi, luego de que el amigo @cre47iv3 se enteró que usaba mi viejo celular como router y aunque acá se le cambió el ventilador interno, ella vive más caliente que plancha de chino, por lo que cada tanto, se apaga.

Funciona conectada al enchufe, así que más que una portátil, pasó a ser una PC en decadencia. Para empeorar la situación, a mi hijo mayor se le ocurrió varios años atrás, en mantenerla abierta cerca del ventilador de la pieza, y la abrió tanto que se partió en una esquina, por lo que a veces, la pantalla titila como si tuviera un ¡tic nervioso!

Pero con todo ello, ha sido mi compañera fiel en estos casi 4 años que tengo en el ecosistema, por lo que bien ganado tiene que ya le busque una sustituta y ella pueda disfrutar de lo que le quede de vida útil sin tanto stress en procesar fotos y videos, además de todo lo que hago en mi vida digital gracias a ella.

Sé que lo ideal es comprarla en una tienda especializada, pero al no contar con el dinero, toca recurrir a alguna tienda para sacarla por pagos mensuales. Como tengo el crédito de la tienda Coppel, busqué modelos y presupuestos que se adapten a mi posibilidad de pago, y aunque ahora no tengo ni donde caerme muerta, ese paso está decidido: voy a comprarme una nueva laptop. De todas las que me gustaron, hay dos que son de marcas reconocidas, pero que valen más de un millón, por lo que tocó averiguar un poco sobre las bondades que ofrecen las de menor costo, para determinar cuál es la más conveniente para mi.

Las demás que estaban en existencia son de marcas que veía por primera vez, pero todo queda en darles un buen uso y así evitar que se dañen, y con la compra viene una garantía por dos años, así que es una ventaja para estar más tranquilos luego de semejante inversión.

Luego de ver cada descripción y pedir opinión al vendedor de la tienda, pedí presupuesto de la que me gustó, para saber cuánto debo tener para la inicial y en qué montos quedarían las cuotas, pues estoy dando un salto de fe, pero también necesito contar con un paracaídas!

Al finalizar, me fui a casa con mi papel en mano, pensando en el camino de dónde voy a sacar ese dinero, pero con la convicción de estar más cerca de cumplir con esta meta.

I did it from the office and had almost no luck, so seeing my desperation, she gave me a laptop that she had left for her son to play with after the battery and Wi-Fi card were damaged, but it helped me a lot. She then told me to keep it and that we would talk about the price later, but although we are still in contact, she never asked me for anything.

I estimate that my laptop must be about 10 years old or more, and it works like Frankenstein (a mixture of several devices that I have assembled to improve its performance) because it has a keyboard and mouse connected by USB, as well as a USB flash drive for Wi-Fi. After my friend @cre47iv3 found out that I was using my old cell phone as a router, and even though the internal fan was replaced, it runs hotter than a Chinese iron, so every so often, it shuts down.

It works when plugged in, so rather than a laptop, it became a PC in decline. To make matters worse, several years ago, my eldest son decided to keep it open near the fan in the room, and opened it so wide that it broke in one corner, so sometimes the screen flickers as if it had a nervous tic!

But despite all that, it has been my faithful companion for the almost four years I've been in the ecosystem, so it's well deserved that I find a replacement for it so it can enjoy the rest of its useful life without so much stress processing photos and videos, in addition to everything I do in my digital life thanks to it.

I know that the ideal thing would be to buy it in a specialized store, but since I don't have the money, I have to resort to a store that offers monthly payments. Since I have credit with the Coppel store, I looked for models and prices that fit my budget, and even though I don't have a penny to my name right now, I've made up my mind: I'm going to buy a new laptop. Of all the ones I liked, there are two that are from well-known brands, but they cost more than a million pesos, so I had to find out a little about the benefits offered by the lower-cost ones to determine which one is best for me.

The others that were in stock were brands I had never seen before, but the important thing is to make good use of them and prevent them from getting damaged. The purchase comes with a two-year warranty, which is an advantage that gives me peace of mind after such a significant investment.

After looking at each description and asking the store clerk for their opinion, I asked for a quote on the one I liked, to find out how much I would need for the down payment and what the installments would be, because I'm taking a leap of faith, but I also need to have a safety net!

When I was done, I went home with my paper in hand, thinking about where I was going to get that money, but with the conviction that I was closer to achieving this goal.
