On Wednesday, July 30th, the FOMC confirmed there would be no interest rate cut, keeping rates steady at 4.25%–4.5%.
The last minor cut was back in December 2024 — and since then, it’s been radio silence.

But… why?

After all:

  • Inflation has slowed
  • Recession fears have faded
  • Even Trump is yelling at Powell to slash rates
