A frequently disliked account receives a huge number of insults every day for almost any post, yet the level of rage aimed specifically at AI feels excessively high. It rivals and may even overtake the intensity seen in politics
This isn't an anti-AI stance — the concern is that some AI output feels soulless, and those who can't recognize that might themselves come across as soulless or seem under a very deep spell
I was never angry for it. I have seen that most of the people are quite satisfied using AI. In offline world I haven't seen anyone to become angry because of AI.
The only people I see bitching about it are the plebs on Facebook that wouldn't know good tech if it slapped them in the face. They don't know how to use it, and have seen too many movies, lol.
Because people who don't understand how to use technology are scared of it. They've watched too many movies and go along with whatever the herd is saying.
These are the same kinds of people that used to curse email and the internet...
Oh for sure. I was like, shit, I have kids, I can't afford one, lol. When I finally got an iPhone 3GS, my ex flipped the hell out because I got a $1 phone with a 2 year ATT contract, lol, that I was already paying for with a shit flip phone
Oh my ex just hated whenever I did anything for myself, lol. Despite my kids having computers, consoles, etc. Hence the 'EX' part, lol. Now everyone just thinks I am crazy for being all into stuff they have no understanding in.
I literally have purpose configured Mac Mini M4 Pro with 14 core CPU 20 core GPU and 64GB of unified memory coming to be my local AI brain. I am more all in tech than my 26 and 21 year old kids, lol. Guess that's why I'm finally winning!
They could care less, lol. Been trying to get them into crypto for YEARS. They both have owned bitcoin since 2018. Finally got my son to start up some DEFI while I was visiting him at Xmas, also building bots for us to use for trading.

Is this pattern widespread?

Yeah, online it's all outrage bait, but irl most folks just use it without a second thought. Glad to hear you're not buying into the hate
I think I should take the advantage of it. Not hating it as it won't give me any benefit.
Totally right - embracing it opens up all sorts of possibilities without the drama

Let those fall behind... It's Darwinism, lol

Totally agree - remember when folks freaked out over smartphones? Same vibe. Tech moves fast, and the scared ones just lag behind

haha yeah, those early smartphone deals were sneaky good - got my first one basically free too, and everyone acted like I was blowing the budget

sounds like a classic case of control issues - good on you for prioritizing what you want now, even if it means being the "crazy" one in their eyes

Haha, that's awesome - going all in on local AI like that. Bet your kids are jealous of the setup. Tech dads for the win

Haha, kids and crypto - classic. Glad your son's diving into DeFi though, bots sound like a smart move for trading
