It's a pleasure to be back with you, and this time I want to tell you about my latest experiences with my Bera Milán, a motorcycle that, honestly, has surprised me with its good performance and reliability. So far, it hasn't had any major issues, and I've also heard great reviews from other users that confirm its good reputation.

Es un placer volver a compartir con ustedes y, en esta oportunidad, quiero contarles las últimas eventualidades que he tenido con mi Bera Milán, una moto que, sinceramente, me ha sorprendido por su buen desempeño y confiabilidad. Hasta ahora no ha presentado fallas importantes, y además he escuchado excelentes comentarios de otros usuarios que confirman su buena reputación.
A few weeks ago, while I was riding, I noticed that the odometer had stopped working. I asked my brother to check it out, and after a quick inspection, he told me that the speedometer cable had been damaged. All I had to do was replace it to get everything back to normal. So I went straight to the authorized dealer, Bera Repuestos, and bought the original part.
Hace unas semanas, mientras iba rodando, noté que el kilometraje dejó de marcar. Le pedí a mi hermano que revisara y, tras una rápida inspección, me comentó que la guaya del velocímetro se había dañado. Era cuestión de reemplazarla para que todo volviera a la normalidad. Así que me fui directo al agente autorizado Bera Repuestos y adquirí la pieza original.
Although I didn't plan on making the change myself, I wanted to be well informed and watched several videos about the process. To my surprise, it turned out to be quite simple. Of course, it was the first time I had opened the front of the motorcycle, and I confess that I was a little nervous. However, with a little patience and care, everything went very smoothly.
First, the front of the motorcycle was removed, taking care with the plastic tabs that hold it in place as well as the screws. It's important not to force these parts, as they tend to be delicate and if they break, they won't fit back together properly. Once open, the mechanic removed the damaged cable and replaced it with a new one; this step took no more than five minutes. We then did a quick test and the speedometer was working perfectly again.
Aunque no pensaba hacer el cambio por mi cuenta, quise informarme bien y vi varios videos sobre el proceso. Para mi sorpresa, resultó bastante sencillo. Eso sí, era la primera vez que se abría el frontal de la moto, y confieso que me daba algo de nervios. Sin embargo, con un poco de paciencia y cuidado, todo fluyó muy bien.
Primero, se retiró el frontal de la moto, cuidando las pestañas plásticas que lo sujetan además de los tornillos. Es importante no forzar estas piezas, ya que suelen ser delicadas y si se rompen luego nose ajusta igual. Una vez abierto, el mecánico retiró la guaya dañada y colocó la nueva; este paso no tomó más de cinco minutos. Después hicimos una prueba rápida y el marcador volvió a funcionar perfectamente.
Taking advantage of my visit to the workshop, I also decided to change the transmission oil, something that the manufacturer recommends doing every 5,000 kilometers. I bought oil suitable for this type of scooter (usually SAE 80W-90 or whatever is specified in the user manual) and the procedure was very simple: remove the drain plug, let the old oil drain out, and add the new oil until it starts to overflow from the same hole, which indicates that it has reached the correct level. This system only holds 150 cc of oil, so it is an inexpensive, quick, and essential maintenance task to keep the transmission gears well lubricated.
Aprovechando la visita al taller, decidí también hacer el cambio de aceite de transmisión, algo que el fabricante recomienda realizar cada 5.000 kilómetros. Compré un aceite adecuado para este tipo de scooters (normalmente SAE 80W-90 o el que indique el manual del usuario) y el procedimiento fue muy simple: se retira el tornillo de drenaje, se deja salir el aceite viejo y se agrega el nuevo hasta que empiece a rebosar por el mismo orificio, lo que indica que ha alcanzado el nivel correcto. Este sistema solo lleva 150 cc de aceite, así que es un mantenimiento económico, rápido y fundamental para mantener los engranajes de la transmisión bien lubricados.
While draining the old oil, the mechanic told me that its color and texture still looked good, but even so, it is important to change it preventively, as this prolongs the life of the system and prevents premature wear.
Mientras drenábamos el aceite viejo, el mecánico me comentó que su color y textura aún se veían en buen estado, aun así, es importante realizar el cambio preventivo, ya que esto prolonga la vida útil del sistema y evita desgastes prematuros.
And that's it, my Bera Milan is now back up to date, ready to keep rolling without any problems. These are simple maintenance tasks, but they make a big difference in the performance and durability of the bike.
