Hive Open Mic Week 290 – The Glory | Yo te alabo, Dios - Cover by @Maitt87
Hello, dear friends of Open Mic! We are now in week 290 of this wonderful contest, and this time the theme invites us to reflect on a word as profound and luminous as “Glory.”
When we think of glory, we tend to imagine splendor, greatness, or triumph; however, on a spiritual level, glory goes much further: it is the sincere recognition of God's presence in our lives, the light that manifests itself when a grateful heart surrenders to His love.
For this week, I wanted to share a song titled “I Praise You, God,” a simple composition that I learned during my years in the church choir, but which comes from the depths of my soul. Although its lyrics are brief, they contain a powerful message: every time we praise, worship, or sing to God, we participate in His glory. It is not just words or melodies, but a spiritual connection where our voice joins the entire creation to exalt the Creator.
This song is, then, a reminder that giving glory to God does not require grand gestures, but a heart willing to shine with the light He gives us. Thank you for joining me for another week in this beautiful musical space at Hive.
¡Hola, queridos amigos de Open Mic! Nos encontramos en la semana 290 de este maravilloso concurso, y esta vez la temática nos invita a reflexionar sobre una palabra tan profunda y luminosa como lo es “Gloria”.
Cuando pensamos en la gloria, solemos imaginar esplendor, grandeza o triunfo; sin embargo, en el plano espiritual, la gloria va mucho más allá: es el reconocimiento sincero de la presencia de Dios en nuestra vida, la luz que se manifiesta cuando un corazón agradecido se rinde ante su amor.
Para esta semana he querido compartir un tema titulado “Yo Te Alabo, Dios”, una composición sencilla, que aprendí en mis años en el coro de la iglesia, pero que viene nacida desde lo más profundo del alma. Aunque su letra es breve, encierra un mensaje poderoso: cada vez que alabamos, adoramos o cantamos a Dios, participamos de Su gloria. No se trata solo de palabras o melodías, sino de una conexión espiritual donde nuestra voz se une a la creación entera para exaltar al Creador.
Esta canción es, entonces, un recordatorio de que dar gloria a Dios no requiere de grandes gestos, sino de un corazón dispuesto a brillar con la luz que Él nos da. Gracias por acompañarme una semana más en este hermoso espacio musical de Hive.

A very beautiful song with simple but powerful lyrics! And performed with a lot of feeling.
I hadn't heard this song in many years, and just as you've said here, it was also one of the first I learned when I started singing in church. This is a very unique and soulful version, but perfect for this week's topic. You're right, Glory goes beyond what is popularly believed. I'd say it's an almost indescribable feeling, perhaps because it's a feeling of the soul, not the body. Thank you for this great post; you're an excellent musician ❤️
