The First Coffee Of The Year [ESP/ENG]

Happy New Year, friends! We're still in the first few days of the year, so it's never too late to say it. Today I want to share with you what my first cup of coffee of the year was like. At that moment, my heart was still full of happiness and high hopes for the arrival of the new year. Of course, my country hadn't yet suffered the military attack by a foreign country that happened on January 3rd, leaving people injured and dead, including civilians. But obviously, that's not a topic to discuss in this community, and I don't want to relive those moments of anguish and tension. That's why I want to focus exclusively on that moment on New Year's Day when I woke up at my grandparents' house (because even though they're no longer alive, the whole family still gathers there). The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the house, taking me back to the time when my grandmother was alive. In those years, in addition to the smell of coffee, you could also hear the slightly distorted sound of an AM radio tuned to her favorite station, "Radio América," a station that today is even considered a cultural heritage site due to its long history. that he has.

Now it's not Grandma who makes and serves the coffee, now it's my aunts. This time, one of them made a delicious vanilla latte served in a clay cup because, according to her, it gives it a special flavor, or something like that. The coffee was frothy (just how I love it 😍), it had a subtle aroma and flavor of vanilla that didn't overpower the coffee notes at all, and the sweetness was perfect to pair with the delicious dessert, apple and carrot cake.

Whenever I enjoy my first cup of coffee of the year, I like to finish it on the patio, surrounded by nature, by the cacao tree my grandmother planted, with birdsong in the background and a gentle, cool breeze. Because on this side of the world, we never have snow 😊 the sun shines and bathes us in its warm light. I feel that enjoying this beverage this way is the most fitting, because coffee, coming from nature, blends perfectly with it.

Feliz Año nuevo, amigos, aún estamos en los primeros días del año, así que nunca es tarde para decirlo, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi primera taza de café del año, en ese momento aún tenía el corazón lleno de mucha felicidad y buenas expectativas ante la llegada del año nuevo, desde luego mi país aún no había sufrido el ataque bélico por un pais extranjero como sucedió el día 3 de enero, dejando personas heridas y fallecidas entre los cuales había civiles, pero obviamente ese no es un tema para tratar en esta comunidad y tampoco quiero recordar esos momentos de angustia y tensión, por eso quiero remontarme exclusivamente a ese momento del primer día del año cuando desperté en casa de los abuelos (porque a pesar de que ellos ya no viven, toda la familia aún se reúne allí) El olor a café recién colado inundaba toda la casa, remontándome mentalmente a los tiempos en que mi abuela vivía, en aquellos años además del olor del café también se percibía el sonido medio distorsionado de una radio en frecuencia A.M con su emisora favorita "Radio América" una emisora que hoy en día incluso es patrimonio cultural debido a todos los años que tiene.

Ahora no es la abuela quién prepara y sirve el café, ahora son mis tías. En esta ocasión una de ellas preparó un delicioso latte vainilla servido en una taza de arcilla porque según ella le aporta un sabor especial, o algo así. El café estaba espumoso (como me encanta 😍) tenía un sutil aroma y sabor a vainilla que no opacaba para nada las notas del café, y el dulzor era el perfecto para acompañarlo con el rico postre, torta de manzana y zanahoria.

Siempre que degusto el primer café del año me gusta terminar de beberlo en el patio, acompañada de la naturaleza, del árbol de cacao que un día sembró la abuela, con el canto de los pájaros de fondo y la suave brisa fresca, porque de este lado del mundo nunca tenemos nieve 😊 el sol brilla y nos baña con su cálida luz. Siento que degustar esta bebida de esta manera me parece la más indicada porque el café, al venir de la naturaleza combina perfectamente con ella.
