My fascination with ancient Egypt [ESP/ENG]

Probablemente algunos de ustedes sean como yo, locos empedernidos por todo lo referente al antiguo Egipto como momias, pirámides y sarcófagos, pues aquí les contaré de dónde proviene toda mi fascinación, lo que he logrado saber sobre la mitología egipcia y sobre todo que he hecho con esa información 😄
Some of you are probably like me, crazy about everything related to ancient Egypt such as mummies, pyramids and sarcophagi, well here I will tell you where all my fascination comes from, what I have managed to learn about Egyptian mythology and above all what I have done with that information 😄
Todo empezó cuando yo tenía unos doce años de edad, yo cursaba segundo año de bachillerato, y en el colegio comenzamos a ver una nueva materia, Historia Universal, en ese entonces yo no tenía expectativas al respecto porque no me importaba demasiado la historia (jamás hubiese imaginado que más tarde terminaría loca por ella) Pero sí, comenzamos a estudiar las diferentes culturas y civilizaciones, hasta que llegamos a la egipcia. El profesor hablaba de los dioses, de las costumbres egipcias, los rituales para preparar a los muertos para su viaje y su posterior encuentro con Anubis y Osiris 😃 Todo eso me dejó fascinada, pero en especial, me dejó con ganas de conocer aún más detalles, de conseguir más información de la que estaba en los libros de historia universal de mi curso.
It all started when I was about twelve years old, in my second year of high school, and we began a new subject at school: World History. At the time, I had no expectations because I wasn't very interested in history (I never would have imagined that I would later become obsessed with it). But we did begin studying different cultures and civilizations, until we got to Egypt. The teacher talked about the gods, Egyptian customs, the rituals to prepare the dead for their journey and their subsequent encounter with Anubis and Osiris. 😃 All of that fascinated me, but especially, it left me wanting to know even more details, to get more information than what was in the world history books for my class.
Así que de esta manera fue como terminé en la biblioteca publica de mi ciudad, jaja todos pensaban que yo era una especie de ratón de biblioteca, porque siempre me iba allí después de clases, derecho al pasillo de historia universal y me devoraba cuanto libro había allí sobre el antiguo Egipto y mitología. Así descubrí la fascinante historia sobre El libro de los Muertos, que eran hechizos y oraciones que los escribas vendían a todo el que pudiera pagarlo, y que la persona necesitaría el día de su muerte para poder entrar al inframundo y así enfrentarse al juicio de Osiris, allí los muertos tendrían que medir su corazón en una balanza comparada con una pluma de la diosa Maat. Si tu corazón era más ligero que la pluma podrías pasar al Aaru 🤗 (una especie de paraíso, casi siempre representado en las pinturas como un campo de juncos) pero si tu corazón era más pesado que la pluma, entonces serías condenado a una segunda muerte, la definitiva, pues serías inmediatamente devorado por la diosa Ammit, que tenía cabeza de cocodrilo 😑.
So that's how I ended up in my city's public library. Haha, everyone thought I was some kind of bookworm because I always went there after school, straight to the world history aisle, and devoured every book there about ancient Egypt and mythology. That's how I discovered the fascinating story of the Book of the Dead, which was a collection of spells and prayers that scribes sold to anyone who could pay. The person would need it on the day of their death to enter the underworld and face the judgment of Osiris. There, the dead would have to weigh their heart on a scale against a feather of the goddess Maat. If your heart was lighter than the feather, you could pass into Aaru 🤗 (a kind of paradise, almost always depicted in paintings as a field of reeds), but if your heart was heavier than the feather, then you would be condemned to a second death, the final one, as you would be immediately devoured by the goddess Ammit, who had the head of a crocodile 😑.
También aprendí sobre el origen de los dioses, sobre los diferentes faraones y dinastías que gobernaron a Egipto durante siglos, aprendí sobre arqueólogos famosos como Howard Carter (quién encontró la tumba de Tutankamón) y en secreto soñaba con ser igual a él algún día 🤗, pero obviamente era algo extremadamente difícil de lograr para mi y el tiempo y las circunstancias fueron llevándome por otros rumbos.
I also learned about the origin of the gods, about the different pharaohs and dynasties that ruled Egypt for centuries, I learned about famous archaeologists like Howard Carter (who found Tutankhamun's tomb) and secretly dreamed of being like him someday 🤗, but obviously it was something extremely difficult for me to achieve and time and circumstances took me in other directions.
Pero de alguna manera logré sacarme esa espinita 😄 porque con todas las anotaciones que yo había hecho en la biblioteca en esos tiempos más toda la información que pude recabar después en internet cuando continué con mis investigaciones, me dediqué a escribir guiones que más tarde me servirían en mi canal de youtube. En ese canal yo suelo subir videos sobre literatura, curiosidades e historia, y desde luego que el antiguo Egipto tiene un lugar muy especial allí, de hecho tengo toda una lista de reproducción con vides exclusivos sobre la cultura, la mitología, las costumbres e incluso la moda de los antiguos egipcios. Y es que creo que cuando algo te gusta mucho, debes ponerle empeño y tu corazón, porque este regresará a ti de alguna forma.
But somehow I managed to scratch that itch 😄 because with all the notes I had made in the library back then, plus all the information I was able to gather later online when I continued my research, I dedicated myself to writing scripts that would later be useful on my YouTube channel. On that channel, I usually upload videos about literature, curiosities, and history, and of course, ancient Egypt has a very special place there. In fact, I have a whole playlist with exclusive videos about the culture, mythology, customs, and even fashion of the ancient Egyptians. And I believe that when you really love something, you should put your heart and soul into it, because it will come back to you in some way.
Y bueno, fue así como terminé enamorándome de esa cultura y mitología, y soñando despierta con poder viajar algún día para ver de cerca las pirámides y tumbas de los faraones, pero cada vez que escribo un guion o grabo un video sobre esto, de cierta manera me siento muy cerca.
And well, that's how I ended up falling in love with that culture and mythology, and daydreaming about being able to travel someday to see the pyramids and tombs of the pharaohs up close, but every time I write a script or record a video about it, in a way I feel very close.

wow de verdad que es muy interesante lo que escribes a mi tambien me gusta mucho la mitologia egipcia y tambien la griega pero no he tenido tiempo de investigar muy bien a fondo pero si es muy interesante saber de donde venimos porque aunque no lo creas muchas de nuestras creencias vienen de alla
