Hello my dear friends of this wonderful community, finally I had the time to take the pictures I needed to show you something that for me is very valuable, it's about my collection about Shakira, items that I collected during my childhood and adolescence, because she was my favourite singer, and I think she still is, even though her musical style is far from my preferences, the cases of some of the records are not in the best conditions due to the passing of time, but I still keep them with a lot of affection because it is the memory of a very beautiful stage of my life, some records were a gift from my parents and others I bought them with my first job.
Hola mis queridos amigos de esta maravillosa comunidad, finalmente tuve el tiempo para tomar las fotografías que necesitaba para mostrarles algo que para mi es muy valioso, se trata de mi colección sobre Shakira, artículos que yo recolecté durante mi niñez y adolescencia, ya que ella era mi cantante favorita, y creo que lo sigue siendo a pesar de que su estilo musical dista mucho de mis preferencias, los estuches de algunos de los discos no están en las mejores condiciones debido al paso del tiempo, pero yo de todas formas los guardo con mucho cariño porque es el recuerdo de una etapa muy bella de mi vida, algunos discos fueron regalo de mis padres y otros los compré yo con mi primer empleo.
I remember that my parents had given me "Donde están los ladrones" which is Shakira's fourth studio album, in cassette format but I don't know where it is now. Later they gave me "Laundry Service" or "Servicio de Lavandería# en Español, which was very important and marked a before and after in Shakira's career, as it was her crossovery album that opened the doors to the Anglo-Saxon market, it also reminds me of the time when I entered the academy to study English, so I practised a lot with these songs, my favourite was Poem to a Horse. The best of all is that the album came with a DVD of the tour "El Tour de la Mangosta" as a gift.
Recuerdo que mis padres me habían regalado "Donde están los ladrones" que es el cuarto album de estudio de Shakira, en formato cassette pero no sé donde está ahora. Posteriormente me regalaron "Laundry Service" o "Servicio de Lavandería" en Español este fue muy importante y marcó un antes y un después en la carrera de Shakira, ya que fue su album crossover y el que le abrió las puertas al mercado anglosajón, además me recuerda la época en la que yo entré en la academia a estudiar inglés, así que practiqué mucho con estas canciones, mi favorita era Poem to a Horse. Lo mejor de todo es que el disco venía de regalo con un DVD de la gira "El Tour de la Mangosta"
This DVD comes with the whole concert on video plus a very interesting documentary, and also has a Cd with the audio of the concert.
Este DVD viene con todo el concierto en video además de un documental bastante interesante, y también tiene un Cd con el audio del concierto.
I remember that when I was a child, it was very popular to collect stamp albums and in this case I wanted to have one of my favourite singer, I never got to complete it because whenever I bought the stamps I always got the same ones and very few new ones, but I liked it because as well as having information about her I had the lyrics to some of her songs.
Recuerdo que cuando yo era niña, era muy popular coleccionar albumes de estampitas y en este caso yo quise tener uno de mi cantante favorita, nunca llegué a completarlo porque siempre que compraba las estampitas venían las mismas y muy pocas nuevas, pero me gustaba porque además de tener información sobre ella tenía las letras de algunas de sus canciones.
Later I got my first job in a circus that came to the city, and with what I earned I managed to buy two of Shakira's albums that I like the most "Fijación Oral" and "Oral Fixation" respectively, I love these albums because in addition to the songbook there is a very nice poster of the singer, Oral Fixation has a very nice visual art, with images of Shakira in a very vintage style, posing with her little niece on the cover.
Después conseguí mi primer trabajo en un circo que venía a la ciudad, y con lo que ganaba logré comprar dos de los discos de Shakira que más me gustan "Fijación Oral" y "Oral Fixation" respectivamente, me encantan estos discos porque además del cancionero hay un póster muy bonito de la cantante, Oral Fixation tiene un arte visual muy bonito, con imágenes de Shakira en un estilo muy vintage, posando con su sobrinita en la portada.
Oral Fixation, i.e. the English version is also beautiful, I love the visual art, inspired by creation, Shakira poses as Eve in paradise, and the album contains a picture of an apple to represent the forbidden fruit.
Oral Fixation, es decir, la versión en inglés también es hermosa, me encanta el arte visual, inspirado en la creación, Shakira posa como Eva en el paraíso, y el disco contiene una fotografía de una manzana para representar el fruto prohibido.
Later I acquired the album Loba, in which we lose the rock Shakira we were used to, and we gain a Shakira with more commercial rhythms such as pop and electronic music, but I still liked these rhythms. I really liked the visual art because it is inspired by lycanthropy, the album has a photograph of the moon, and in the songbook there are photographs alluding to the legend of Romulus and Remus.
Posteriormente adquirí el album Loba, en el cual perdemos a la Shakira rockera a la que estábamos acostumbrados, y ganamos a una Shakira con ritmos más comerciales como el pop y la música electrónica, sin embargo todavía me gustaban estos ritmos. Me gustó mucho el arte visual porque está inspirado en la licantropía, el disco tiene una fotografía de la luna, y en el libro de canciones hay fotografías alusivas a la leyenda de Rómulo y Remo
And I finally bought the Shakira album because in a way it goes back a bit to her alternative roots and more appealing rhythms for me, but it's something that doesn't happen in all the songs on the album. The visual art is not as impressive as its predecessors, it's more about showing the singer as an ordinary, bohemian girl who likes to sing.
Y finalmente compré el album Shakira porque de cierta forma vuelve un poco a sus raíces alternativas y ritmos más atractivos para mi, pero es algo que no sucede en todas las canciones del disco. El arte visual no es impresionante como sus antecesores, se trata más de mostrar a la cantante como alguien común y corriente, una chica bohemia a la que le gusta cantar.
