Wow, it's been a long time since I reviewed a series or movie, but today I'm preparing to share my opinion with you about a series that, even though it's been around for a while, I recently watched and I really felt the urgent need to tell you what I think about it.
Wow, hace muchísimo tiempo que yo no reseñaba alguna serie o película, pero hoy me preparo para compartir con ustedes mi opinión acerca de una serie que, a pesar de que ya tiene tiempo, yo la vi recientemente y de verdad tuve la imperiosa necesidad de decirles lo que pienso al respecto.
Overview/Resumen
In a remote German city, strange events occur. Apparently, every 33 years someone disappears without a trace. In 2019, it was a boy named Mikkel. However, the investigations only yield confusing information as more strange events unfold, such as the discovery of a child's body with burns around his eyes. But what's most striking isn't his injuries, but his clothing and belongings. Despite being a fresh corpse, everything seems to point to him dating back to the 1980s, a decade that also saw similar disappearances. Throughout the story, we realize that all the characters are connected in some way as we travel alongside them on dizzying journeys through time.
En una lejana ciudad alemana ocurren eventos extraños, al parecer cada 33 años alguien desaparece de la nada, en el 2019 fue un niño llamado Mikkel, sin embargo las investigaciones solo arrojan datos confusos mientras más eventos extraños ocurren, como la aparición del cuerpo de un niño con quemaduras en los ojos, pero lo que más llama la atención no son sus heridas, sino su ropa y elementos porque a pesar de que es un cada ver fresco, todo parece apuntar a que viene de los años 80, década en la que también hubo desapariciones. A lo largo de toda la trama nos damos cuenta que todos los personajes están conectados de alguna manera mientras nos desplazamos junto con ellos en viajes vertiginosos a través del tiempo.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
As always, I'll give you my honest opinion. To watch this series, you need to pay close attention, and if possible, watch each episode more than once because the plot is extremely confusing, especially regarding time travel. The narrative pace seemed very slow to me, and at times so dense that the episodes became boring. The same goes for the cinematography, which I found dark, lackluster, and dull. It suited the setting, but I didn't like it. However, I've noticed that this is typical of German productions. On the other hand, I must acknowledge some important elements, such as the acting, which was generally good, except for the actor who plays Ulrich. I thought he was too cold, even though he wasn't supposed to be, as seen in that reunion with Mikkel.
Como siempre les daré mi opinión sincera, para ver esta serie deben estar sumamente atentos y si es posible ver cada episodio en más de una ocasión porque la trama es extremadamente confusa, sobre todo en lo que refiere a viajes en el tiempo, el ritmo narrativo me pareció muy lento y en ocasiones tan denso que los capítulos se volvieron aburridos,y lo mismo sucede con la fotografía que me pareció oscura, deslucida y aburrida, iba acorde con la ambientación pero no me gustó, sin embargo he notado que es propio de producciones alemanas. Por otra parte debo salvar algunos elementos importantes como las actuaciones, las cuales estuvieron a la altura, salvo la de el actor que interpreta a Ulrich, me parece que era demasiado frío, aún y cuando no debía serlo, como ese reencuentro con Mikkel.
It's a science fiction series with an emphasis on human complexity, full of symbolism and mystery. While it does make you reflect on more than one occasion, I think its complex narrative structure and chronological order prevent you from fully enjoying it. Of course, I'm speaking from my own opinion, and there are also those who loved the series, so it's a matter of taste. However, at times it's impossible not to ask yourself questions like: Is there a connection between the present, past, and future? And above all, if time travel to the past were possible, would it be possible to change the course of our history?
Es una serie de ciencia ficción con énfasis en la complejidad humana, cargada de simbolismos y misterio, pero aunque te hace reflexionar en más de una ocasión, pienso que la estructura narrativa tan compleja y el orden cronológico que maneja evitan que se pueda disfrutar por completo, claro está que yo les estoy hablando desde mi propia opinión, y también están los que adoraron la serie, así que es una cuestión de gustos, sin embargo en algunas ocasiones es imposible no hacerse algunas preguntas como ¿Existe alguna conexión entre el presente, pasado y futuro? y sobre todo, de ser posible un viaje al pasado ¿Sería posible cambiar el curso de nuestra historia?
Obviously, the script is based on the Einstein-Rosen hypothesis about wormholes, in which he proposes that two parallel universes could coexist and that they can be reached using wormholes as bridges. But then the big question arises: What on earth is a wormhole? Well, according to Einstein-Rosen, it's a kind of hypothetical tunnel that passes through space and time. He imagines space and time as a sheet of paper; the wormhole would be equivalent to folding that sheet in half so that the two distant points meet. Okay, so far so good because this hypothesis supports the narrative structure of the series, but what makes it extremely complex is that it doesn't maintain a chronological order and there are too many plot twists, so in the end you even end up wondering what day it is or what year it is. 😄
Obviamente el guion está basado en la hipótesis de Einstein-Rosen sobre los agujeros de gusano, en la que él plantea que dos universos paralelos podrían coexistir y que se puede llegar a ellos usando los agujeros de gusano como puentes, pero entonces surge la gran pregunta ¿Qué rayos es un agujero de gusano? bueno, según Einstein-Rosen es una especie de túnel hipotético que atraviesa el espacio y el tiempo, él imagina el espacio y el tiempo como una hoja de papel, el agujero de gusano equivaldría a doblar esa hoja por mitad para que los dos puntos distantes se encuentren. Ok, hasta aquí todo bien porque esta hipótesis sustenta la estructura narrativa de la serie, pero lo que la hace extremadamente compleja es que no mantiene un orden cronológico y hay demasiados giros de trama, así que al final de cuentas terminas hasta preguntándote qué día es hoy o qué año transcurre 😄
Of course, from a more reflective perspective, the series, as I mentioned before, makes you constantly ask yourself questions, especially about whether you would repeat your past actions, whether you regret something you did or didn't do. It makes you think very carefully before acting, knowing that every action will have a consequence. We know that the past, however painful, tragic, or whatever else may have happened in it, no longer matters; in real life, we can't change it. But if one thing is absolutely certain, it's that everything we do in the present will have an impact on the future, so we must be careful with our actions.
Claro que desde otro punto de vista más reflexivo, la serie sirve, como ya dije anteriormente, para que te hagas preguntas constantemente, en especial, si repetirías tus acciones del pasado, si no te arrepientes por algo que hiciste o que no hiciste, hace que pienses muy bien antes de actuar, a sabiendas de que cada acción generará una consecuencia. Sabemos que el pasado, por muy doloroso, trágico o lo que sea que haya ocurrido en él, ya no tiene importancia, en la vida real no podemos cambiarlo, pero si algo es completamente cierto es que todo lo que hacemos en el presente tendrá injerencia en el futuro, así que hay que tener cuidado con nuestras acciones.
Unfortunately, despite my final thoughts, I can't recommend the series as a great option, since I didn't really like it (for all the reasons I've already mentioned). But it's up to each person to watch it, analyze it, and come to their own conclusions. Just because I didn't like it doesn't mean it's not a good series; it's just not for everyone.
Lamentablemente, a pesar de mis reflexiones finales no puedo recomendarles la serie como una gran opción, ya que en realidad no me gustó (por todo lo que ya les conté) pero es cuestión de que cada quien la vea, la analice y llegue a sus propias conclusiones, que no me haya gustado a mi, no significa que no sea una buena serie, solo que no es para todo tipo de audiencia.
