If I say Lisy García Valdés only a small group within this ecosystem will know who she is, but if I say @lizandra, the majority will be able to recognize her and those who have not yet had the opportunity to be in contact with her luminous vision of the world will be able to approach her profile and discover her. The important thing is that Lisy, @lizandra, is a first-rate writer and today I would like to tell you about one of her books.

Approaching children's literature, trying to shed the adult garb and give back to the world through the eyes of children, is something I really admire about those who dedicate part of their work to this audience. Lisy is one of those poets who is committed to painting children's imaginations in verse.

The book in question is a beautiful collection of poems whose protagonists are her three children. If I may be permitted the caveat, it is an invitation to her own family space in which, with all possible tenderness, she narrates the experiences of her "salt elves" (as she calls them in her dedication) in their dialogue with the world.

These discoveries are adorned with sands and waves like the dream that suggests the very construction of the book. Following this logic, the notebook is divided into steps in a sequence that follows a child's approach to the universe of the sea.

Dylan discovers the sea is a recreation of a moment in the life of a boy as blue as the water and the sky of the landscape, who, hand in hand with his sisters Gabriela and Violante, accumulates experiences where fantasy comes to the fore.

Lisy is skillful in generating an atmosphere that sprinkles with décimas, short romances, ovillejos and other simpler structures to translate the adventures, the happiness shared on a trip to the beach and how this experience is seen through her eyes. He brings us his personal perspective on this special child's ways of appropriating the world, with lyricism in consonant and assonant rhymes.

Editorial Capiro of Santa Clara, Cuba, has kindly published Dylan discovers the sea, I have the digital version. Lisy gave me her poetry so that I could try to turn it into an image for scenic purposes. Together we dreamed of representing the little stories it contains for school children and different social projects in the central province. However, we have not been able to materialize this common desire. From our first dreams I have some puppets, built by me, a musical selection of the best of the Cuban and Latin American children's songbook and many desires to be able to give that other possible way to all those who can take poetry in dramatic function.

I confess, I think this will be a surprise for Lisy, I am writing a theatrical version of her poems and it is my intention to musicalize them as well.

So, if you have the opportunity, do not hesitate to give your children, and also give yourself, a time in the company of Dylan, the child captain of the trip. I predict a unique moment, one of those that fill the soul with sand castles, lights and the stillness that only the noblest poetry usually leaves with its tide.

Lisy García Valdés is another of Peter Pan's Daughters, who never stopped and never will stop being girls, a mermaid in the sea of Neverland who guides the paper boat in which she accommodates three children with the tender hope that they will never grow up in her eyes and for that she is assisted by the spell of her verses.

Si digo Lisy García Valdés solo un grupo pequeño dentro de este ecosistema sabrá de quien se trata, pero si digo @lizandra, la mayoría podrá reconocerla y los que aún no hayan tenido oportunidad de estar en contacto con su luminosa visión del mundo podrán acercarse a su perfil y descubrirla. Lo importante es que Lisy, @lizandra, es una escritora de primera y hoy me gustaría hablarle de uno de sus libros.

Acercarse a la literatura para niños, intentar despojarse de las vestiduras de adultos y devolverse al mundo a través de los ojos de los niños, es algo que realmente admiro de quienes dedican parte de su obra a este público. Lisy es una de esas poetas que apuesta por pintar de verso los imaginarios infantiles.

El libro en cuestión es un hermoso poemario que tiene como protagonistas a sus tres hijos. Si se me permite la salvedad, es una invitación a su propio espacio familiar en la que, con toda la ternura posible, va narrando experiencias de sus “duendes de sal” (como ella les llama en su dedicatoria) en su diálogo con el mundo.

Estos descubrimientos se adornan de arenas y olas como el sueño que sugiere la propia construcción del libro. Siguiendo esta lógica, el cuaderno se divide en pasos de una secuencia que va transcurriendo según el acercamiento de un niño, al universo del mar.

Dylan descubre el mar es una recreación de un momento en la vida de un niño azul como el agua y el cielo del paisaje, quien, de la mano de sus hermanas Gabriela y Violante, va acumulando vivencias donde la fantasía sale a relucir.

Lisy es hábil en cuanto a generar una atmósfera que salpica con décimas, breves romances, ovillejos y otras estructuras más simples para traducir las aventuras, la felicidad compartida en un viaje a la playa y de como es vista tal experiencia a través de sus ojos. Nos trae su personal perspectiva sobre las maneras de apropiarse del mundo de este niño especial con el lirismo en rimas consonantes y asonantes.

La Editorial Capiro de Santa Clara, Cuba, ha tenido a bien publicar Dylan descubre el mar, por mi parte tengo la versión digital. Precisamente llegó a mis manos con la idea de hacer un trabajo conjunto, Lisy me entregó su poesía para que yo intentara convertirla en imagen con fines escénicos. Juntas soñamos representar las pequeñas historias que contiene para niños de las escuelas y diferentes proyectos sociales de la central provincia. Sin embargo, no hemos conseguido materializar este común anhelo. De nuestras primeras ensoñaciones tengo algunos títeres, construidos por mí, una selección musical de lo mejor del cancionero infantil cubano y latinoamericano y muchos deseos de poder regalar ese otro camino posible a todos los que pueda llevar la poesía en función dramática.

Confieso, creo que para Lisy será una sorpresa, que estoy escribiendo una versión teatral a partir de sus poemas y que es mi intención musicalizarlos además.

Así que, si tienen la ocasión, no duden en regalarle a sus hijos y también regalarse a ustedes mismos, un tiempo en compañía de Dylan, el niño Capitán del viaje. Les auguro un momento único, de esos que llenan el alma de castillos de arena, luces y la quietud que solo la poesía más noble suele dejar con su marea.

Lisy García Valdés es otra de las Hijas de Peter Pan, que nunca dejaron ni dejarán de ser niñas, una sirena en el mar de Nunca Jamás que guía el barco de papel en el que acomoda a tres niños con la esperanza tierna de que nunca crecerán a sus ojos y para ello le asiste el hechizo de sus versos.
