Suddenly, we find ourselves in the simplest and most beautiful pastime of yesteryear: playing shadow puppets. This was one of the family pastimes of centuries past. Children and adults were captured by shadows, creating stories by the fire that projected their silhouettes on the stone walls.

So, at night, my children let their imaginations run wild and create characters with their hands. In this first post, I share with you the bird that lives in the hands of Eileen Lucía, my six-year-old daughter.

Creo que en las oscuras noches de la realidad cubana todos andamos por los caminos de la inventiva para matar el aburrimiento. Sin conexión a internet, con baja batería en el móvil, las posibilidades parecen escasear para entretener a la familia.

Entonces se experimenta una regresión, como si de la máquina del tiempo se tratara. De repente, nos encontramos en el más simple y hermoso divertimento de antaño: jugar a las sombras chinescas.

Este fue uno de los pasatienpos de las familias de los siglos pasados. Niños y adultos eran atrapados por las sombras, creando historias junto al fuego que proyectaba sus siluetas en las paredes de cantería.

Así, mis hijos en las noches dejan volar su fantasía y crean personajes con sus manos. En este primer post les comparto el pájaro que vive en las manos de Eileen Lucía, mi hija de seis años.
