As part of my personal aesthetic I have been exploring for some time the infinite possibilities of working with paper, cardboard and other recyclable resources. It is a fascinating world indeed; just by cutting the paper or folding it, surprising results can be obtained. In the case that concerns me today, and following this series that I have named D- constructions, based on the work with silhouettes, I return with another piece of simple elaboration for anyone who dares to try it.

Apropos of the initiative Hive Diy for mom- Give mom something made by yourself, I propose this ode to motherhood made with cardboard cuts to achieve a three-dimensional sensation.

The motherhood represented by two figures intertwined in a tender relationship, expresses that quality of indissoluble link between mother and daughter, as well as offering a parallel reading by trying to represent with the figure of the girl, dressed in a tutu, those dreams that we mothers usually have regarding the development of our sons and daughters.

Happiness is a work that I have enjoyed very much and I confess that its brief elaboration motivates me in favor of this minimalist result loaded with senses.The prominence of minimal and simple elements, pure colors and a simple language favors the intention of enhancing the message with a more intellectual intention from the production of the formal manufactured content.

In this I establish the conceptual background of my work, although I always try to provoke diverse readings in contact with the spectator. Other truths in this regard will be revealed as they pass through each step of the realization.

Happiness, step by step

Materials: white cardboard, pink tissue paper, vinyl disc, exacto blades, glue stick.

First I drew the silhouettes of the pieces, taking into account the extension of the extremities of the figures that will later play a key role in the construction of the link between the two silhouettes.

Once marked, I proceeded to cut out the silhouettes with the help of blades, respecting the idea of the circular format of the vinyl disc. The circle is offered as a symbol of this perfect and infinite link that means motherhood.

Keeping the shape, I proceeded to fold the piece until the result of the interrelation of the shapes was modeled.

I added the pink tissue paper background, covering the vinyl disc, to characterize the delicacy and tenderness.

I glued the pieces to the vinyl record and took advantage of the central hole to hang it on the wall.

---

---

Then I cut a list of pink tissue paper in a higher shade and folded it accordion style. With it I made the girl's tutu in relief.

With black pencil I marked the outline of both silhouettes.

---

---

And here is the result: Happiness, a piece that connects emotions and summarizes the feminine experience of maternal satisfaction.

Of course, the photographic testimony of the moment of delivery of this gift to my mother can be missing.

Como parte de mi estética personal llevo tiempo explorando las infinitas posibilidades del trabajo con papel, cartón y otros recursos reciclables. Es un mundo fascinante de hecho; solo con cortar el papel o doblarlo se obtienen resultados sorprendentes. En el caso que me ocupa hoy, y siguiendo esta serie que he nombrado D- construcciones, fundamentada en el trabajo con siluetas, regreso con otra pieza de simple elaboración para cualquier persona que se anime a intentarlo.

A propósito de la iniciativa Hive Diy for mom- Regala a mamá algo hecho por ti misma, propongo este canto a la maternidad hecho con cortes en cartulina hasta lograr una sensación tridimensional.

La maternidad representada por dos figuras entrelazadas en una relación de ternura, expresa esa cualidad de nexo indisoluble entre madre e hija, además de ofrecer una lectura paralela al intentar representar con la figura de la niña, vestida con tutú, aquellos sueños que generalmente tenemos las madres con respecto al desarrollo de nuestros hijos e hijas.

Felicidad es un trabajo que he disfrutado mucho y confieso que su elaboración breve me motiva en pro de este resultado minimalista cargado de sentidos. El protagonismo de elementos mínimos y simples, colores puros y un lenguaje sencillo favorece la intención de potenciar el mensaje con una intención más intelectual desde la producción del contenido formal manufacturado.

En ello establezco el trasfondo conceptual de mi pieza, aunque siempre intento provocar lecturas diversas en el contacto con el espectador. Otras verdades al respecto serán reveladas según vayan transitando por cada paso de la realización

Felicidad, paso a paso

Materiales: Cartulina blanca, papel de seda rosa, disco de vinilo, cuchillas exacto, tijera, pegamento en barra.

---

Primero dibujé las siluetas de las piezas, teniendo en cuenta la extensión de las extremidades de las figuras que luego tendrá protagonismo en la construcción del vínculo entre ambas siluetas.

Una vez marcadas, procedí calar las siluetas con auxilio de cuchillas, respetando la idea del formato circular del disco de vinilo. El círculo se ofrece como símbolo de este vínculo perfecto e infinito que significa la maternidad.

Manteniendo la forma procedí a doblar la pieza hasta modelar el resultado de interrelación de las formas.

Añadí el fondo de papel de seda rosa,cubriendo el disco de vinilo, para caracterizar la delicadeza y la ternura.

---

---

Pegué las piezas al disco de vinilo y aproveché el orificio central para colgarlo en la pared.

---

---

Entonces corté una lista de papel de seda rosa en un tono más alto y la doblé a modo de acordeón. Con ella elaboré el tutú de la niña a relieve

Con lápiz negro marqué el contorno de ambas siluetas

Y he aquí el resultado: Felicidad, una pieza que conecta emociones y resume la experiencia femenina de satisfacción materna.

Para supuesto no puede faltar el testimonio fotográfico del momento de entrega de este obsequio a mi madre.
