Escondido- De la serie D-construcciones (ilusión con siluetas)/Hidden - From the D-constructions series (illusion with silhouettes) [ESP-ENG]

Hola, #HiveDiy, comunidad hermosa y creativa!!!

Como parte de mi trabajo con las siluetas y correspondiendo a una serie que he lanzado dentro de las comunidades amigas #DiyHub y #HiveArte, hoy les propongo visitar el proceso creativo y el estudio de iluminación que he realizado con esta pieza Escondido. Esta es la tercera pieza que realizo y, aunque aún no me siento satisfecha con el resultado, quise anunciarles cómo va el proceso.

La seducción de la forma es uno de los lenguajes que más me interesa trabajar dentro de mis inquietudes expresivas. Descubrir posibles significados, proponer lecturas diversas, jugar con el potencial de la pieza en su diálogo compositivo con el espacio y el espectador, son algunas de las principales directrices que motivan esta serie.

Para esta pieza he querido dialogar en otro sentido con el recurso luz ( mi favorito) y completar diferentes modos de interacción. Si con Murakami en la ventana intenté crear la ilusión desde la silueta misma magníficadas con la luz pero con una identidad propia, con Escondido es la luz quien precisamente connota esa cualidad de existencia de la pieza. La luz es el elemento revelador del contenido y ello implica un proceso experimental riquísimo. Pero, vayamos a la pieza misma e irán comprendiendo estas razones.

Parte 1: Creando la forma

Primero diseñé la imagen simplificada de un búho. Además de ser una de mis criaturas favoritas, recurrente en mi trabajo, me interesaba proponer un nexo entre la noche como puente hacia ese mundo de ocultos donde la luz se entiende en una manera mágica. El búho se asocia con ella.

Luego calé con sumo cuidado la pieza.

Con ayuda del pegamento en barra la fijé a la placa de gelatín ( acetato).

Hice algunos primeros experimentos con luz natural y artificial en el contexto del día. Quería encontrar una sensación, otra, un posible discurso más en relación con la sombra.

Posteriormente, (aprovechando otro momento de descanso de las tareas domésticas de una madre) preparé el donde figuraría la pieza de acetato. Para ello tomé una caja de cartón con tapa. Lo que me interesaba era la tapa y la estructura lateral de la caja. Así que, retiré con la tijera el cartón sobrante.

Con ayuda del lápiz y la regla preparé una suerte de diafragma con la tapa de la caja y fijé con pegamento una hoja de papel de seda blanco (este serviría de fondo y filtro translúcido a la vez.

Forré la caja con papel de seda negro.

Tomé la cuchilla e hice incisiones en los lados del rectángulo de la caja en correspondencia con unas pestañas que dejé en los bordes de la pieza donde estaba silueteado el búho.

Ensamblé la pieza de acetato a la caja y ya conformada la idea, coloqué una forma de sujeción en la parte superior de la caja , disimulada con la tapa forrada de blanco.

A continuación les muestro algunos estudios de la pieza general bajo diferentes ángulos luminosos y en distintos contextos.

Hasta aquí va avanzando esta obra.

Escondido es una obra que apunta hacia el discurso complementario de la luz como agente revelador y complementario, potencia la forma y resignifica su contenido según la incidencia de la luz. La sustancia inmaterial es quien caracteriza según dibuje bajo criterios de la visión selectiva que juega con el diálogo perceptivo entre el sujeto y el objeto observado.
Escondido es otro intento artístico mediante el cual pretendo incidir y dialogar con la forma y el espacio d-construyendo realidades con una narrativa personal.

Espero que les resulte interesante y que, siguiendo el paso a paso que les acabo de mostrar puedan encontrar un nuevo medio de expresión. Intenten y les garantizo una experiencia hermosa y lúdica.

As part of my work with silhouettes and in keeping with a series I've launched within the friendly #DiyHub and #HiveArte communities, today I'm inviting you to visit the creative process and lighting studio I created for this piece, Hidden. This is the third piece I've created, and although I'm not yet satisfied with the result, I wanted to share with you how the process is going.

The seduction of form is one of the languages ​​I'm most interested in working with within my expressive interests. Discovering possible meanings, proposing diverse interpretations, and playing with the potential of the piece in its compositional dialogue with the space and the viewer are some of the main guidelines motivating this series.

For this piece, I wanted to engage in a different kind of dialogue with light (my favorite) and explore different modes of interaction. If with Murakami's Window I tried to create the illusion from the silhouette itself, magnified by the light but with its own identity, with Hidden, it is the light that connotes the piece's quality of existence. Light is the element that reveals the content, and this implies a rich experimental process. But let's look at the piece itself, and you'll begin to understand these reasons.

The Process

Dual-tone chrome cardstock (black and white)

Part 1: Creating the Shape

First, I designed a simplified image of an owl. Besides being one of my favorite creatures, a recurring theme in my work, I was interested in proposing a connection between the night and the occult, where light is understood in a magical way. The owl is associated with it.

Then I carefully cut out the piece.

With the help of a glue stick, I fixed it to the gelatin (acetate) plate.

I did some initial experiments with natural and artificial light during the day. I wanted to find a sensation, another one, a possible discourse more in relation to the shadow.

Later, (taking advantage of another moment of respite from a mother's housework) I prepared the space where the acetate piece would be placed. To do this, I took a cardboard box with a lid. What interested me was the lid and the side structure of the box. So, I trimmed the excess cardboard with scissors.

Using a pencil and ruler, I prepared a sort of diaphragm with the box lid and glued a sheet of white tissue paper onto it (this would serve as both a background and a translucent filter).

I lined the box with black tissue paper.

I took the knife and made incisions on the sides of the box rectangle, corresponding to some tabs I'd left on the edges of the piece where the owl was silhouetted.

I assembled the acetate piece to the box, and once the idea was formed, I placed a holding device on top of the box, concealed by the white-lined lid.

Below, I show you some studies of the overall piece from different lighting angles and in different contexts.

This work progresses to this point.

Hidden is a work that points toward the complementary discourse of light as a revealing and complementary agent, enhancing form and redefining its content according to the incidence of light. The immaterial substance is what characterizes, according to I drew using selective vision criteria that play with the perceptual dialogue between the subject and the observed object.

Hidden is another artistic endeavor through which I aim to influence and engage in dialogue with form and space, constructing realities with a personal narrative.
