Smaller fractions? Isn't that what Satoshi are for? Or is the news about buying BTC in quantities less than 1 Sat (0.00000001 BTC)?

Good catch! I meant fractions smaller than 1 Satoshi (0.00000001 BTC). The idea is to make Bitcoin even more accessible by allowing purchases in tiniest amounts. Pretty innovative for adoption, in my view

Thanks for the clarification. If this is the case, then BTC will be imitating ETH. Ethereum was created with Precision 18, and Bitcoin was created with Precision 8. For reference, LEO is Precision 3 (0.000) and USD is Precision 2 (0.00).

Interesting point about Ethereum's precision. Bitcoin going smaller than a Satoshi could indeed mirror that flexibility, making microtransactions even easier. Pretty forward-thinking for broader adoption imo
