Perhaps by the time I make this post or by the time you see it, Chatgpt would have been back online. But currently the platform is not working.
I initially thought it was my Internet messing up and a friend of mine sent a WhatsApp screenshot saying chatgpt is down. He's heavily dependent on Chatgpt as a lot of people are with googling stuff so if Chatgpt is down he'll probably be the first person to know before tech support finds out at openAI 😂.
I tried it and noticed, this was true, the all mighty, always dependable chatgpt is down. Why I'm I sharing this when it doesn't have much to do with this platform?
Well it made me think about all the kids that were postponing their assignment till today because they felt chatgpt got this one. What now mudder crackers?😎
Anyone that's stuck without the ability to do any work just because AI is not working is giving you a trailer of what is ahead of us and how the next generation would look like. You see, for today, if we all gather in a room and nobody's got their phones in their hands, communication is awkward as hell. The phone in hand is a way of saying, everybody is chilling. Take a Gen Z's phone out of their hands and what do you have? You guessed it, nothing is going to happen in that room.
We're so attached to the phone and it has become normal. I'm not saying it's bad or good I'm saying it has become normal and whether you're concerned about that or not depends on your worldview.
But a time to come, it won't be the phone, it would be AI. No AI, everything starts to look awkward. The friend who sent the screenshot was actually freaking out.
The raw talents, the commutation amongst ourselves, our skills, our abilities to do everything as human beings, everything would have taken a nosedive in 5 decades from today.
Will we be smarter?
I think not at this point. It looks like the smarter AI gets, the dumber the users get because of how they use it. They generally abuse it. Instead of cheating with it, you could let it help you do the job better but who wants that right? We're screwed ... No we're not, we'll be just fine. Chatgpt will be back online hopefully.
