The Gray isn't Graying - Ash Grey Highlight Without Bleach

I've been wanting to highlight my hair with ash gray because I just think it looks freaking cool. My inspiration is my bg3 Tav/character and also Tulsi Gabbard. I find it interesting and thought it would suit me but I got disappointed haha.

So, I got this ash grey hair color and decided to do it on my own since it's only a simple highlight. The store I went to didn't have Garnier, so I went with this brand called Salsa. I used some of their products in the past and it was fine, so why not try their hair coloring product?

I already read the packaging that without a bleach it wouldn't be too visible so I was like, fine. maybe it'll look a slight shade of gray but instead, my hair turned a copper-ish? and only the top of my hair that seemingly is grey. My hair went through so much changes from pink to maroon, burgundy and eventually I just let it be like that but recently I got bored with jet black and strands of white hair. So, why not just give it a grey highlight to even everything?

Inside the packaging there are the coloring and the coloring conditioner. There's also plastic glove and instruction included. I honestly was just highlighting a wee bit of my hair but somehow now when I actually compare what my hair used to look like, there's a very slight difference in color

That is how it looks like after coloring. I didn't really factor in the thickness of my hair and just sort of applied everything 🤣 and somehow, it looks like that.

From this picture there's actually a different on the top of the hair and it does look a little grey? I could be color blind but that's Okay, at least it isn't really a disaster 🤣 and I am trying to smile

Maybe I'll get it fixed and actually go for what I really want 😄 for now, I am settled with this color and until I feel bored but I definitely won't be changing them into colors that I used to do like pink or anything too flashy. I recently got inspired from The Wizard liz to find style and hairstyle that actually suit us. She talks about how elevating some of our looks could help us become a lot less boring and more appealing to look at. I mean, I haven't dolled up in years because I was nomading and sort of didn't really care about it but now, I kinda do and it feels nice looking put together.

Also, my mom laughed at me because I wanted to color my hair ash grey/grey and she's always coloring her hair black. I told her to keep it natural and even showed her my Tav character, she's starting to get convinced that gray isn't bad.

Grey is indeed cool! it's why I want it but if it's natural that's gonna be a long wait! 😂

I don't really see much grey in your hair, but looks nice either way.

Haha. Wash a few more times you may start to see the hair is "lightened"

You have good hair texture. Don't bleach it unless you have a great way to repair the damage.

Otherwise on the long run it won't be as healthy as before.

Still looks nice under bright light. At least now you have "2 colours" indoors and outdoors. 😏

I bleached it a couple of times a long time ago and regretted it. When I was traveling my hair got damaged and so fragile. I did my best repairing it and now they grow wild hahaha. I still like to color my hair and it's why I typically don't use bleach as you said, repairing the damage can be costly and almost an impossible attempt.

Oh my, I can only imagine how good your hair would look in pink.
Love the hair colour although the grey isn't that visible

I did half pink in the past and this one maybe because I didn't bleach it, they're not so apparent. Thank you and maybe in next 40 years, they'd look even more visible haha- natural aging.

looks could help us become a lot less boring and more appealing to look at.

I learnt that getting our hair done solves 70% of our problems. Haha.

I love the color grey. It's not so vibrant but it gives chic in my opinion. Your hair looks really nice btw.
