Self Growth & Discovery (90 Day Challenge) Week 3

Bye bye 7 Pounds....

It’s wild that now I am at the lowest of my weight ever since I started this whole weight loss journey. It has been about 3 years that I was struggling to lose it off and the scale won’t budge. Until these last few weeks, I tried and changed the way I eat completely.

I am a motivation dependent type of person. I don’t really do things unless I have a strong reason and personal interest to do it. While I know a lot of things, I will only take action when I strongly have the reason to. However, despite all the cons of being that type of person, a person like me is pretty resilient as long as there’s a strong interest and purpose when I do things. In the end, I am that one person who does everything I can for a goal.

When it comes to weight loss, I realized how it impacted not just my health but also my outlook on life. During these 3 weeks, I definitely faced a lot of struggles but because I have a strong interest and reason to finally lose all the weight I had after the pandemic, the challenge feels more like a game that I needed to win.

One major thing that I faced has been doing the repetitive tasks and mundane routine. So, I’ve found ways to cycle through different workouts and eat food that I’ll enjoy for long periods of time. Thankfully, I love plain boiled foods. I also love eggs and that’s what I’ve been having these past three weeks without fail. I also love boiled/grilled chicken that is also not missing from my meal.

This is what my breakfast usually looks like.

In the past, my attempt wasn’t as serious as this one as I was not counting my calories and eating whatever I could. I was also still a stress eater and that took a toll on me. After a little re-wiring, I eventually changed that habit. Again, I have to thank my strong interest in losing all the excess weight I accumulated.

All the knowledge that I accumulated paid off and well, the journey just doesn't stop here. I am still around 69 days to go and there are more days where I’ll have days feeling like crap.

My diet isn’t really extreme because I still eat things I love and I snack too. As you read sometimes, I love the late night munchies too. But that is because I have counted my calories and I still have room for more. The maximum I could eat in a day is definitely around 1600 calories/day with 60 minutes workout. I made a mental note to never cross 2000 too often as well. My BMR is also around that much so, I need to make sure it doesn’t go too low nor too high. For example, this meal log is one of the bad days. I didn’t workout and it was my day off but I ate too much.

While this is what I’d love to do almost daily. There’s certainly a little error in the sugar section but somehow, I always choose what appears to have the biggest calories just to make up for the calculation if I have an extra food. It’s nice to see this and know not to overeat.

Throughout the day, I split my workout into 2-3 sessions. Sometimes I workout more but I don’t really log them especially when it comes to strength training. I only log the cardio session to it that is often 30-60 minutes/day 6 days a week with a day rest.

I am happy with losing 2 pounds/week and I understand that my body might get more efficient with it, so I always use TDEE calculator to adjust everything and as always, I do intermittent fasting/fasted meals. I don’t eat breakfast until I hit 12 hours without food. It’s not the ideal type of intermittent fasting but I am delaying the time I am having breakfast.

There were days when I thought about speeding up everything but I know I would really hate what I would do. I might have to workout a lot and starve myself. Since my goal isn’t really losing it fast, I certainly don’t go that way. I am happy with what I am doing right now and I try not to weigh myself daily rather once a week. I tried this method and I became a little unhappy because the weight fluctuates throughout the week and only after 7 days they’ll be consistent at a certain number and eventually they will be gone from one pound to another.

In case you’re wondering, this is the channel that I am using to workout. It’s easy, simple and joint friendly for beginners. There a lot of variations to this workout but this one is something I do almost daily in the morning.

This leg workout is really fun to do and only 10 minutes.

For arm workout, this is the channel that I use.

I have to say that while the title can be a little click baity, it’s better to focus on the movement. It’s not easy to just get what they promised on the title but for those who are looking to lose more weight, they help burn some calories and add more activities/movement.

Honestly, I am really far from my target of the 90 days challenge. I realized it isn't as easy as it seems. At the rate I am currently doing, it will be 2 pounds less than the target that I do. I might have to increase my workout from just an hour to 2-3 hours/daily since right now, I’ve gone from 30-35-40 to eventually consistently doing 60 minutes/day.

As for the rest, my tracker currently looks like this. I need to get back on the studying game since I haven’t been doing it for a while now. The key is not to miss more than two days, otherwise it’s going to get challenging to do it.

Your doing well. Out of all the weight loss things I've done in the past. The one where I took a food diary & did exercise worked best. I think what is best is to keep focused and tracking everything. Wish you continued success 😁

Tracking calorie is huge! we often underestimate how much we eat in a day. I really hope I can get the result I wanted in next few weeks.

I can imagine how beautiful and slender you look now without those many kilos, and what is your goal, what is your ideal weight? You don't want to be so thin either, it's always nice, a little bit of excess beauty.😁😁😁😁

Many congratulations for all the love you have put into your new life dynamics. Eating some sweets once in a while is ok.😄
