Self-Growth 2.0 Week 7
Finally this update is back on track! I hope through this I can also inspire you doing the same. It takes small steps and consistency to transform our life. It doesn’t have to be something big but just taking it one day at a time.
As I’ve mentioned last week, I was cutting down my priorities into just 4 lists. I am focusing on my workout, my certification preparation, house projects and my daily scripture. Since this is also the start of the year, I also renew my schedule and how I wanted to run my life in 2025. The schedule is also pretty minimalist as I don't want to overcrowd my day with things. Since I tested it for the past 4 days, I felt reborn. It was the schedule that was extremely optimized for my productivity and ensuring no time is wasted on mindless scrolling. Even on a bad day, I'd still feel satisfied knowing that I've taken care of most things and still have time for some light hobby such as watching series or reading a book.
Being unpredictable for the longest of time, this year, I want to add some more predictability into my life. For some it sounds boring because that’s their common reality but I’ve been going against the wave of normality for decades and I want to switch it up. I want to try what people call “boring” and less adventurous.
Although, I can say with surety that my DNA isn’t built like that. All of my family enjoys quite a roller coaster adventure and also venturing the unknown. It’s not always rewarding monetarily but we get certain high from it.
Let’s review and check my accountability, shall we?
As you see on the chart above, I am going strong with my daily scripture. The thing is I also have bible installed on my phone that sends daily verses. It's something I look at and I only write them for verses that I want to remember.
Also, recently I found a Church ministry whose pastor is great. He was living in the States for years and the style of his preaching is relatable and something I was more familiar with. I thought to myself, why not do it again? Because in the pas I was actually listening to Michael Rood who focuses on biblical wisdom through the Hebrews Root. It was something I subscribe to for quite a long time and I listened to it online too. Now, it’s the same, though the Church is 2 hours drive from my home, it’s a bit hassle as I currently don’t have a car. The thing is they’re livestreaming it, so I was doing my Sunday service from a cafe. Thankfully, there was nobody except me in the cafe so I was able to quietly ponder on it. This is a selfie after my Sunday service, not sure why I did that but it was fun.
This Sunday service helps me supply my understanding on how the bible verse are. As much as I studied it through different lenses, I quite enjoy the modern representation to it which is the Church I am currently listening to offers.
Lately, I felt like the more I was upfront about my faith, I got questioned a bit but trust me, it took me a long time to come to this conclusion.
People were against me when I was an atheist, when I was borderline satanist and when I was an agnostics. Now, after a lot of long journey of reflection, learning, and my own conviction, last year it all come full circle. That this is my life, this is what I came to believe in and I wasn’t influenced by anyone but through my own findings and a long journey that I spent more than a decade searching.
As for the rest of the tasks I did, they were just the usual. I am spicing up my workout by trying new things from Growwithjo and Eleni fit. They have the workout I love and is only 20-25 intervals. I get bored quite often and their workout helps. And I can’t wait to create my study plan for my Comptia prep. S
ince these days I am taking up a mentorship on speaking class, this is the lesson plans I made. Just as I mentioned about the new schedule I made, it also accounts for this too as it only is 60 minutes and fairly casual for now.
During the evening, my niece came to visit and I was also having meeting for the next offline event. We’ve updated our progress, some meeting and discuss things regarding the future offline events. I’ve finalized most of the merchandising and we’re waiting for some designs to be finally finalized.
I even had the time to read the book and will be publishing the review today as part of @hivebookclub monday prompt . The book that I tried to finish last night was intriguing and more of my thing. So, stay tuned for that !
See you in my next update progress 😊

It's good to see how focused you are on your goals. I admire the fact you're keen on reading your scripture more this year, that very inspiring. I wish you the best abs hope you stick to your schedule.
It's going to be challenging but so far I've been able to stick through it.
Awesome, Mac. The most productive progress, really, is getting more inclined with the word daily. Sharing your growth is admirable. I wish you the best in the last 41 days, good luck with the CompTIA cert. And is the speaking mentorship class private?
yes and it's paid :)
I wasn't able to update my journal from July to December 2024 as I misplaced the notebook. I will have a new approach of tracing my tasks and reminders.
I hope you won't misplace this year's notebook and you can see the progress you've made!
Kereeeeeeen 🙌 I hope you'll achieve the goals and consistently move a step closer to whatever you want in your life 🫰
Thank you. Hopefully this year is going to get better than the previous one ☺️
One thing that stood out more to me is your daily scripture and how you are progressing each day on it. Reading the word helps lift our faith and it has been something helpful in my journey of building my faith. You have amazing goals there and always working to achieve is amazing. I wish you success in the remaining 41 days, Mac. Hugs 🫂 🤗
That's how I felt, I don't want to be preachy about it but also it's something I've been enjoying doing daily. It helps me getting closer to God and getting to know him better. Although my life doesn't change much, one thing I am noticing is how my faith just gets stronger ☺️
I'm very sure of that aspect. Our faith grow stronger when we are inclined to the word of God daily.
I am glad to know that you have installed the app on the phone to read the Bible. Actually, since the phone is always near, religion is also being practiced through it. This is a very good thing. Your new year plan is very good. Good luck with you.
hahaha yeah, that's because I get bored often too and having them closer is a great idea to read whatever I am need to learn something new from it. Good luck to you as well 😊
I'm sure you actually live on Mars where a day lasts for 25 hours as there is no way you can fit all this stuff into Earth's 24 hours! All I can say is thank goodness you dont live on Mercury where a day lasts 1408 hours!
Anyway, you've upset my sense of balance. It's only week one of of 2025 but you're on week 7 of your challenge and I'm finding it hard to come to terms with this lack of synchronicity. Any chance you can start again? ;-)
Obviously the new year is going well for you and long may it continue. Take care always, Mac :-)
I can live anywhere 😂 and I would appreciate if they even have more than 24 hours. I thought time was my problem growing up, I had way too many interests and things I wanna do but we're limited to 24 hours and then there's biological clock and metabolism and what not haha. These bother me. What I ended up finding is just how I have to say NO quite often and just really making better use of it.
The thing is, the best time to start is now, so my now was 7 weeks ago 😂 and NYE resolution isn't something I believe in anymore. Soooo I guess I've upset a lot of people's synchronicity as a lot of them are only starting out hehe
I saw your latest post and read it, what a lovely lodging you were staying at & of course, happy new year and I hope this year will give you more prosperity ☺️
I love how you are prioritizing your time for something that nourishes your soul, that's something I need to work on too.
We need some type of balance in our life. I swing to the extreme sometimes and that isn't great either
