If 7-Eleven has their slurpee and 24 hours to go coffee, in Indonesia a convenience store chain, Indomaret has a product line called Point Coffee. Their F&B line has been a while but now, this chain store expanded to a gourmet fast coffee. Recently they opened near my place and since it’s nearby, I decided to try it. I’ve been to a few of them but never really tried their coffee because I was hesitant about the quality. But it changed my mind the other day when I found out they even have a decaf option and different types of milk as well as sizes. Decaf, at one point, was not easy to find in the country but seeing that option available, I was thrilled.

They have quite a few latte and frappe menus that you can choose from. They also sell non-coffee options such as tea, milk-tea and milk series like matcha latte. I ended up ordering their dolce latte which was made of 2 shots espresso, milk and condensed milk. While waiting for my order, I browsed around their merchandise and tumblr. They were all way cheaper than Starbucks and Fore whilst the design is as cute as those bigger chains. When you do a blind test, it’s going to be a lot difficult to recognize which is which especially when it’s a latte coffee.

When I tried it, I ended up liking the taste and somehow, I was surprised but considering the pricing that was like a regular coffee shop, it was expected. It was just how a coffee shop would do it. I am even surprised that it wasn't crappy at all because last time, I went to a coffee shop and I paid more than the entire coffee shop I've been to and was served a bad coffee. Now, this really offers a great alternative to get coffee on the go and not a crappy one.

One thing for sure is that they are using fresh beans and the coffee stand is attended by a barista. It’s certainly not a specialty coffee but places like Fore or even Starbucks will have quite a competion. Their price is also similar to a regular coffee shop around and can be slightly above the price of fast coffee chains around. Although considering they are inside a convenience store, the pricing seems to be a factor where I see the place is quite empty whenever I pass through the place.But for me, now I have quite an alternative where I don’t have to spend money on delivery and can just walk to get my sweet caffeine fix whenever I can.
