New year No More Going Blind

Just in time for #Market Friday initiative!

Going blind is something I keep feeling when I am away from glasses.

But at the same time, I haven’t replaced my glasses that I got randomly at Lat Phrao Mall in Bangkok. It was random glasses that replaced my super glue glasses that were beyond saving. I remembered purchasing it for 150 Bath for the one that fits my current prescription at that time. Somehow, it has been around 8 months now with me but to be fair, the glasses gave me a bit of headache and the shape of it was uncomfortable. The design and style aren’t really flattering on me and fits my face contour compared to the ones I normally have or choose back home. That was something I had in mind that I purchased for replacement because when traveling, I desperately need to see signs, especially at the airport.

Today, I researched a few places in town that sell decent glasses. There were a few that had classic styles that I love. But my main point was, I needed to get glasses ASAP because I am currently on my laptop studying a lot and it has been very inconvenient to be staring at the screen for hours on end.

I am that type of no fussy customer. I was screening through the options at the store and specifically looked for the one that looks similar to my previous glasses. Just as you can see above, they gave me some frames that look similar. One of the attendants at the store told me that classic frames aren’t always the trends but they’ll always be available. I mean, that’s true, I don’t really follow trends much because I have my own preferences. I like almost everything classic.

The staff were really friendly and chatty. While it’s pretty packed, they took care of me pretty well. They explained that they have a few selection of lenses. I ended up choosing the one that’s available cause I won’t wait until tomorrow to get the glasses. Anyhow, they took me to their testing room. It has a proper set up and is quite modern. I ended up being told from the result that my prescription changed so my lenses need to be adjusted. At first, I was like, “ am I going to be blind?” but apparently it’s minor changes on both eyes and it’s not that bad.

The one I have now is the anti-radiation lens. I am not particularly sure if they’ll help me stay longer in front of the screen without getting tired but apparently they protect our eyes from blue lights emitted from our device. Their machine is also really modern and it didn’t take more than 20 minutes for it to get ready. After the lenses were attached, the staff adjusted the configuration to make it comfortable for my eyes. I was like, “damn, that’s some premium treatment” because usually after the glasses are ready, you’re just told to leave.

Before leaving, I was told I can get it repaired if anything happens as well as regular maintenance on that place. I just have to make sure to bring the warranty card to their place. No wonder the place is pretty bustling, they have great customer service that makes you want to go back there. They explained things to the customer very clearly, made some great recommendations as well as ensuring that the glasses are comfortable. I am definitely going to be a returned customer if anything happen with my glasses and most likely tells friends and family about the place too.
