M-tech 3-in-1 Connection Card Reader Review | Tech Monday

This is a piece of accessories you never know needed!

Long story short, I misplaced my camera cables and that makes me lost ways to transfer files inside my memory card to my laptop. While I was really happy I got reunited with my camera, not being able to show them off was definitely disappointing. But at the same time, the last time I bought a card reader, it was totally a dud. So, I had to be wary to purchase a new one. Since I was traveling last few days ago, I ended up looking for a computer store and found a place where they sell connection card reader. It definitely not the anker type of brand but for now, thankfully it does the job. It's also unfortunate the store didn't have that much options other than this one.

This connection card reader is from M-tech. It is 3-1 connection card where it can also connect to smartphone because it has type-C connector. So, if you’re content creator and uploads photography or works to places like instagram, having one of these are helpful. In fact, I myself was amazed when I got this connection card reader. I didn’t use these things and it’s my first time. When I connected it to my laptop, I use the type-C more than the USB option. I suppose, it’s a lot more convenient because my laptop supports type-C ports too.

The speed of transfer it’s pretty okay except, I don’t know if it’s durable. Typically for me, I am pretty clumsy so I’ll most likely drop them. Hopefully it will still work if I were to drop them. A few months ago, I got a product from M-tech, if you remember my old joystick, it was from them. But I think they didn’t deliver that well on that. Finger crossed, this one works & last quite a while before I could afford products from Anker or better brands.

It looks like a fine device to have around, especially when your laptop does not have a card reader.

especially when your laptop does not have a card reader.

Thanks for that reminder! I think newer laptop doesn't have that? I used to have it on my older laptop that was made back in 2016 & they still have a card reader slot but these days, it doesn't seem like they built one. It's also why I am getting that hehe.

That's a smart move. I don't know exactly what's the year of production of the Acer Nitro series, but thinking it's after 2019, they don't have that addition. It makes some things troublesome sometimes.

ooh, I see and it's indeed troublesome esp when you have multiple devices and things like phone and camera with post processing to laptop.

Yep. It gets annoying to use so many cables to do one simple thing.

As long as it is useful no, whatever the brand then it's okay. Seeing this made me want to work hard to get myself my own laptop huhu. I missed tap tapping on the keyboard just to type something using it. And for sure if I have a lappy, I'll need too this card reader to transfer files from my phone especially my animes downloaded here. Uwu

I used portable keyboard for my phone sometimes. Though tbh, I've never been a mobile phone fan 😂 somehow it's difficult typing with it. Once you get a laptop, I hope you can get one of these, definitely super helpful if it doesn't come with a card reader slot.

Thanks for sharing this one. I will look for an item like this. It is very useful to copy the files from the camera especially when the laptop does not have a card reader.

I have a very bad experience with this type of memory reader devices and is that you use them once and never use them again I do not know why they are damaged so quickly and no matter the quality you buy it For example I bought a super cheap one that came out in 15 cents and did not last me absolutely nothing after two uses was no longer useful, but I also bought one of Kingston brand that are supposed to be quite good and quality standards are very high, and was even worse because after the first use was no longer useful.

But as you say to get out of an emergency when you have no cable or need to transfer something just fast these memory readers are quite useful.

hahah that was the same with my experience! to be honest, I don't think Kingston is good, I used their flash disk in the past and always hated it. The most durable ones that I have has been my toshiba and other brands. I also typically avoid Kingston, it's a waste of money.
