Coffee Girl Math
Girl Math is a meme that revolves around the rationale behind women's spending, which can be irresponsible and questionable. Think of buying luxury goods when they can't buy just because it would have another purpose that elevates their life. I mean, there are a lot of variations to that. It's one of the trendiest terms lately and deals with behavioural economics.
A few years ago, I remembered older people on the Internet saying things like, "The younger generation can't buy a house because they are wasting money on overpriced lattes."
Nowadays, there are saying like, "Just buy and enjoy your latte because the economy is doomed anyway!" whichever you're subscribed to, if caffeine brings you joy, have no shame buying it. But these days, I'd like to be a lot more responsible.
You would be surprised to know that coffee from a cute little cafe here costs over $2 these days. It used to be cheaper, but with inflation and everything, prices have gone up. I swear, for someone who loves coffee, I did the math.
My friends often joked that if I skipped coffee for a year, I could save enough to afford a Lamborghini.
I spent a couple of years cafe hopping, but they all started to look and feel the same. At the same time, the innovation is slow, which left me feeling a bit burnt out. Now, I only go to cafes when there's something new or they offer new beans.
Since I moved here, I have also gone to a cafe when it's just too hot outside and I need an extremely cool place. But they all come at a cost, and there's honestly nothing comfier than my working room.
Inside it, I've got a comfy chair, a proper-sized table, and plugs that I never have to share with others. It honestly makes more sense to enjoy coffee at home than inside the cafe.
So, to trick my brain when I want an extra sweet boost, I either buy canned coffee or brew my own and pour it into these branded cups. It makes it seem like I am heading out to a cafe while, in reality, I am just going to my working space.
You know, not only did I save up on money, but I also had a great experience with coffee. The coffee I made is a lot more consistent than some local cafes around here.
And that's my coffee girl math.

It's almost like my fruit parfait experience, when I make it, I get to have two moderately sized plates, I get to share with my family too as there are usually enough to go round. But then when I'm buying the cup size in your photo, it's not enough that it's unnecessarily pricey, it's also void of fruits.... Just granolas and greek yogurt with artificial fruits 😐😑.
PS
It's fascinating to see that coffee can be canned.
hahahaha yeah that's the thing! I mean you can make it at home and has a bigger volume and you can even share it with others.
Yep 😊
Well said, as a coffeeholic, I found a joy when I drink a coffee but that will not be every single day because there a lot of consider. Make our own coffe in home is better than purchased overrated coffee.
I think that is still not enough to buy a home even though somebody save their money for coffee, so enjoy our coffee..
These days even if you spend $2 on coffee it won't really be enough to afford a house esp if you live in the capital or metropolitan areas. So, yeah just buy whatever gives you joy but be responsible about all that 😊
2 dollars...
2 × 365
730$ if you take just a cup a day....
1460$ if it's at least 2 cups a day...
Not enough for a lambo but.... That's a lot of dough 😂😂😂
🤣 I drink 3-4 cups/day so that's around $6 just on coffee alone. You see what I am talking about? that's a lot of money in a year and that could get me a flight ticket to somewhere nicer hahaha and a month's worth of living expenses.
😭😭😭😭😂😂😂
Reverse engineering what is oversold to us is one of the great joys of living!
😄 Indeed, that's the way to go with most things esp these days when we're riddled with overconsumption
But getting out of the house to provide a different environment to think in, and then coming up with a killer idea is priceless! I think that maths isn't always so black and white and that some simple calculations are merely an abstract of a much greater puzzle!
Have another coffee and think some more, Mac hahaha
...and have a great weekend :-)
hehe you're right! That's why I still go when I am really stuck and eavesdropped random conversations that people had 😂 I get to learn a thing or two after that. Happy Weekend Nathen😊
Uh oh, girl math...im in the wrong spot.
Oh coffee, yes, right spot after all lol. Some coffee is ok, of course its a little expensive.
