Black Dessert Online First Impression 1 Hour Gameplay | Mac's Gaming

MMORPG is one of my least played game. While I grew up hearing it, I couldnโt afford indulging in any MMORPG or even have the proper device to play it. When youโve been constrained for so long thinking that your device couldnโt play it, somehow that stuck to me. I was afraid my lousy laptop wouldnโt handle it. Today while I am using a little better specs and my laptop could handle playing a lot more games, that mindset is still there. So, only recently after trying out some games and I know the graphic wonโt have any problem, I decided to venture into the world of MMORPG.

There were quite a few MMORPG on the market but STEAM was having sale of this Black Dessert Online and I decided getting it because it also has โmostly positiveโ reviews. A few of my friends have them but it was just one of the game on their collections and they never played it. So, I was left alone trusting the STEAM review. I mean, it couldnโt be that bad, could it?
A little trouble
After downloading the game, I wasnโt expecting that even on Steam, it had another launcher called Pearl Abbys which is apparently the developer and published of the game. When I first tried playing it, I couldnโt really start the game and thought something was wrong with my download but apparently, I have to wait about 10-20 seconds before it starts. I thought it started automatically but there is quite a waiting time on it and I have to make an account as well as clicking on the start button.

While I wanted to record my first impression & showed it to a friend, I ended up recording the first hour of my time playing it. You can check it out in this video.
First impression.....
My first impression of the game was that it is very cluttered. I donโt know where to look for, what to do, even how to close the pop-ups. Sometimes during battle, I was more concerned about hitting the right key as well as making sure I didnโt accidentally press any button that would open up another options.
There were too many texts to read and itโs almost hard to make my screen focused on the game & the quest. Not to mention, thereโs also the chat on the left side that was quite distracting. Perhaps itโs just me who rarely play this kind of game. Eventually I got used to it.
I heard from several reviews on youtube that this game has a lot of grinding and requires us to โwork hardโ on it. I mean, I certainly have the time whenever I can and for the most part, Iโve only started playing all of my games again because I got a gamepad but unfortunately, I learned the hard way ๐คฃ
Anyway, with this game, I also didnโt focus on customizing the character but rather focusing on the first quests of the game. Iโve unlocked a few places by now but I am sure, there are more to it. So far, I fought about 2-3 bosses and I still had no idea what this game is really all about, maybe itโs just where we explore the realm, side quests, and thatโs about it?
So far, I really like the graphic and since itโs my first MMORPG that Iโve played after so long, I was mostly in awe of the graphic. Itโs so immersive and perhaps its novelty that made me truly drawn to it.
The combat mode in this game is quite interesting and I got tired pressing the keys while fighting some of the bosses which made me die. I tried playing with the gamepad but this isnโt really fitting and best to play with a mouse.
While this game released a long time ago, itโs one of my few purchases that I didnโt regret getting. In the past, I enjoyed game like Eragon on PS2 and Iโve been looking for similar games and wanted to play it. While Black Dessert Online might not come close to that, the art and aesthetic of the whole game reminded me of it.
Character customization
After playing for an hour, I decided to give my character a new look. Itโs so intriguing how it is quite in-depth and we can basically customize the avatar to the details. If you watched a little preview of my youtube, I ended up changing the hair color of the character as well as the face and the overall expression of my character. Now, she looks like this!

I got a pet!
I ended up getting a cat and I named it "Cing". It's just like the name of my parents' pet that they're taking care of. They even have similar color. Apparently, the pet can also learn some skills and you can take it in and out.
My next goal of this game is definitely learning about enhancement skills, more of the basics, as well as guilds in the game that quite a few people on the chat mentioned about. So, see you in my next one!

Not really a gamer but I like to play games whenever I can.
I always liked these Mac games, especially the fact that we can customize the characters, maybe that's why I liked the "sims" so much. I love that in the end if you decided to customize her, she needs a pair of glasses, a coffee in her hands and we are ready! Hehe. The fact that you can have a pet is a bonus and how nice that you named it the same name as yours, I love it when we can make it as similar to us as possible.
Maybe I'll stop by more often to see how you're progressing in the game, I really like it when you're accomplishing missions and all that. I'll go see what you recorded on youtube. Regards @macchiata ๐๐ซ
hahahahaha I wish they have coffee in game so I can customize it. I played something like Sims dupe in the past and they were fun. It's just that for this type of game, what I enjoyed the most is completing quests :D I get pretty thorough about it and really takes my time to finish it. We are very different with this, I like to waste my time wandering around and discovering things more than fulfilling missions, suddenly I felt like downloading the sims again ๐ ๐ , I hope you make progress Mac, I'll stop by here from time to time to see how you are progressing. ๐
I hope STEAM can adopt NFT very soon and put the market places of the different games on crypto exchanges or allow purchases with crypto. whichever is easier.
That's so true! I discovered something like trading card and I have a few worth of them by now. There are also people buying them. But not sure if STEAM is going to implement them anytime sooner.

Enjoy the game! I played a few hours of it but if you don't play with friends it becomes pretty boring after a while. At least this happened for me lol
haha yes, I actually love playing games. It's just I never really have the proper equipment until recently. I can imagine how boring it can be especially when you're not playing with friends in this type of game. Actually I'd be okay because I want to finish all the main quests ๐
