A Birthday That Finally Felt Like Me
“ It has to reflect me”
For as long as I can remember, my birthday has always been dictated by what others want, especially my mom who’s always telling me I should do this and that. However this time, I want it to actually reflect myself which is why it took about a week for me to prepare it.
I specifically said no cake and no gifts but my mom being my mom, she actually bought a cake for me. Including some family members who also got me some gifts.
During the celebration, unlike the classic eat and leave, I added a special touch of a slow coffee bar. I featured two of my most favorite types of coffee recently. The menu list looks like this and everyone can order according to the menu. My family finds it pretty interesting and they also find the meal that I picked out was delicious.
In the morning I was going to the store to pick up some fun games gifts for my family. I decided to also give them something that could be memorable, like a souvenir sort of from my birthday celebration. We certainly had a hearty laugh unlike the usual where it’s mostly a quiet celebration.
Being in my late 20’s feels like a whole new world. I hope there will only be more good things this year and on.
I cooked some of the menu which got me so exhausted. I made bolognese spaghetti, chicken teriyaki, and the cheese Tteokbokki.When I thought they weren't time consuming, apparently they were.
This was the snacks and pastry that I served during the celebration.
During the birthday celebration, my cousin wished me a birthday in Japanese and it was pretty funny. My uncle was also bruising up his english skill and wished me in English. We all leave at around 11 PM feeling extremely full and happy.
We also unwrapped the fun prizes and they were pretty surprised by what they got. They all told me that it’s very useful for them. I even got the whole event recorded in cinematic too 😂which was something I was totally unexpected but the video turned out to be great. This gives you a glimpse on how it was and how it went.

Then after everyone went home, I hosted Hive Book Club Chat. We are live every Saturday 5 PM UTC. I am seeing a lot more new people coming in and tuning in. So, it was really fun. I hope next week I will be seeing a lot more people in the audience too. So, don’t forget to check us out.
After that, I got so tired and basically crashed until the next morning. It rained so hard during Sunday morning and I ended up listening to the sermon quite later than usual. There were more things I wished to say but my brain isn’t braining at the moment. I guess all the sugar really got to me and I am still in a sluggish mode. Anyway see you all around!

Happy Birthday you 🎂 Oh 28 what a great age not old while not young but in the prime of your life. Often feel I want to do things I want to on mine. You know a flow of events the way you want. Sometimes part of that day might turn out like that but family and friends want to be there, I get it. So some is traditional really no way out of that I guess.
The coffee bar is a cool thing. Gave me the idea of requesting a breakfast birthday, hehe. What a great display of food and a glimpse of things on your special day with that video. I wish I was in my 20's looking ahead. There is a lot to happen and look foward to you. Your in control of the rest of it but your still young enough to make necessary adjustments :-) Cheers
The coffee bar thing is something fun to do and you can change it for like breakfast bar or an ice cream bar. I did ice cream bar too but everyone was so stuffed that they barely touch it.

The coffee thing is definitely cherry on top. My mom was opposing the idea of me getting busy but that's just who I am. I like to do things for people I care about and help them experience something new. Thank you so much and have a great week ahead :D

I hope so! By the way we have plenty of english tea brands over here and they are considered god tier here. I love earl grey and chamomile from Twinings. Though these days, I just make them fresh :D way cheaper hehe

Twinings and Clipper are what I've been surviving on since I left England. I'd drink both of those quite often. I haven't found them in Armenia still, so the few boxes I have I'm treating like diamonds.
The chamomile one is sold in variations like green tea and chamomile, with lemon, etc.
