Analysing Splinterlands Cards β Undead Rexx
Hi all,
Introduction
Another post in this series. Thank you for your support in the previous posts π
This series intends to determine if there are other aspects of cards that may contribute to increasing its value. Based on your feedback I can focus on more/other things β so feel free to tell me where you want me to go into further detail.
I include some analysis on where the cards fit in terms of gameplay, strategy, comparison with other cards, and a market analysis of its price. Feel free to suggest what more do you want me to look into in this series, and your support is much appreciated!
In this edition I will be looking at the Undead Rexx.
Gameplay Analysis
Undead Rexx is a Common Death Monster from the Untamed Reward set in Splinterlands. It is a high-health, high-damage melee unit that becomes more dangerous at higher levels with Trample and Stun, making it a powerful choice in melee-focused battles.
Mana Cost: 9
Attack Type: Melee
Abilities by Level
Level 1: (No Abilities, just raw stats with high attack and health)
Level 5: Trample (If Undead Rexx kills a target, it performs an additional attack on another enemy)
Level 9: Stun (Has a chance to stun the target, preventing it from attacking on the next turn)
Level-Based Insights
Level 1: A strong frontline or secondary tank with high attack and health, but lacks utility.
Level 5: Trample allows it to chain attacks, making it highly effective in Melee Mayhem and Trample rulesets.
Level 9: Stun gives it crowd-control potential, making it disruptive against high-priority enemy tanks.
Comparative Analysis
How does this card compare to other similar ones?
Vs. Cursed Windeku (Death - 6 Mana): Cursed Windeku has Thorns, making it a strong defensive tank, while Undead Rexx excels in offense.
Vs. Harklaw (Death - 8 Mana): Harklaw has Shield and Immunity, making it better for survivability, while Undead Rexx is a high-damage bruiser.
Vs. Bone Golem (Death - 8 Mana): Bone Golem has Void, making it a strong anti-magic tank, whereas Undead Rexx is purely physical-focused.
Key Takeaway
Undead Rexx is a high-health melee attacker that thrives in Melee-focused rulesets. With Trample at Level 5 and Stun at Level 9, it becomes a powerful offensive force capable of chaining kills and disrupting enemies.
Synergies
Zintar Mortalis (Death Summoner): Reduces enemy melee attack, making Undead Rexx more durable in melee fights.
Contessa L'ament (Death Summoner): Reduces enemy ranged attack, helping Undead Rexx reach the enemy frontlines more safely.
Arachne Thug (Death Melee Monster): Also has Trample, creating a devastating melee-based attack chain.
Silent Sha-Vi (Death Opportunity Monster): Pairs well with Undead Rexx for an aggressive melee attack strategy.
Ruleset Performance
β
Favorable Rulesets:
Melee Mayhem: Can attack from any position, making its high attack power even more useful.
Trample: Works perfectly with its Trample ability, allowing for multiple attacks in a row.
Reverse Speed: Has relatively low speed, making it strong in slow-speed matchups.
β Challenging Rulesets:
Back to Basics: Loses its Trample and Stun, making it just a high-stat unit.
Weak Magic: Does not benefit from this rule since it has no armor.
Little League: Not eligible due to its high mana cost.
Market Analysis
Price Overview
Regular Foil: around $ 0.04
Gold Foil: around $ 0.95
Investment Potential
Undead Rexx is a strong melee attacker with great offensive potential at higher levels. While it lacks defensive abilities, its Trample and Stun make it a valuable addition in melee-based strategies.
Ratings
Usefulness: 7.5/10 (Great in melee-focused battles but lacks versatility in other setups)
Cost-Effectiveness: 7/10 (Affordable, but requires higher levels for full potential)
Versatility: 6.5/10 (Strong in melee-centered rulesets but weak in ranged/magic metas)
Conclusion
Undead Rexx is a hard-hitting melee attacker that excels in Melee Mayhem and Trample-focused strategies. If you need a strong melee bruiser with kill-chaining potential and crowd control, Undead Rexx is a great addition to your Death lineup.
