My Favorite School Memories.
This is the perfect time to answer this prompt because I still can't get over the Euphoria of yesterday.
Just yesterday, I had my school's graduation, from a Junior secondary student now moving as a senior secondary student.
I heard my mom saying that I might resume in a boarding school for my senior secondary school and somehow I felt cold because I surely will miss those days when I hurry back home to meet my mom's delicacies.
Not only that, I would miss my friends and lovely teachers.
For now, I yearn to relive the moment I went for a school's inter-house sport, we were invited by another school, and being a very good athlete, my physical and health education teacher chose me as part of the team.
We were 8 in number, four girls and four boys, which I was included, our teacher ensured we trained so that we can come back home victorious.
It was a relay race and so we taught how to hold the baton and how to stay focused for the race.
I was the first leg for the boy's race, which means that the other runners depended on my speed, which made me feel a bit tense.
On that beautiful day, we were all set and when we got I the venue(field), I took note of the other schools who came I was scared because most of the kids from other schools were quite big in stature and looked macho, but I was tiny.
Most of them started to intimidate me and ask if I was part of the runners, they even made jest of me because of my stature, but my teacher kept encouraging me and reminding me that it's not about the size of a person, but determination to win.
Well, when it was time for us to run, I was on lane 4 which was a bit hard to curve, but then I promised myself to do my best.
Immediately I heard the whistle, I took off, and I ran like a hare I almost fell along the line but as luck was on my side another runner fell instead and I used the opportunity to double my speed.
I heard cheers from my classmates and teacher which even made me more energized until I passed the baton to the next runner.
I was cheering them too, until the end of the race. Fortunately, we came first and that was the best memory of my days as a Junior secondary school kid.
The look on the faces of my intimidators was priceless like so you eventually won?
Though one runner from another school fell, I competed with four schools and it felt good for our school to emerge as a winner.
My teacher was proud of us and the other classmates and then I revenged, I went in front of the kids from other schools and gave them a leg work dance, which made them uneasy, and so they left the venue in shame.
That memory still lingers in my head and whenever I reminisce about it, I wear a smile and from that day, I never let people intimidate me anymore.
These pictures are mine and were taken yesterday and then my mom blessed me with a surprise.
A beautiful gift!!!
This is my response to the prompt.
