Travelling around Sarawak
Morning my wonderful friends,
How are all of you?
I recently travelled from Miri to Sibu here in Sarawak. There is a new Bus Station here in Miri. It used to be a small station. I did not drive this time because I wanted to sell of my car. Wanted to reduce structural damage as well as futhure wear and tear to fetch a higher price.
This is the new Miri Bus Station.
You can get your tickets online but the other best way is just to get here and buy your tickets.
The roads to other districts now is smooth and the government has spent billions building it.
The booking system
This booking system links to the whole of Malaysia. Choose your destination . From Miri to Sibu is around 8 to 9 hours by bus. 7 hours by car.
This is the interior of the bus. Quite clean and spacious. I spent lots of time sleeping. If I were to drive, my brain powered would have to be fully utilized
As this bus station is still new, many shops are still empty.
The space here is huge and this place is clean. It is great to have a new station to make our lives easier. You can alsos use the cargo system to easily transport your stuff around Sarawak at an affordable price.
Went on board the bus after getting our tickets. Luggages are usually placed beneath the bus.
After one and the half hour, we arrived at the first stop which is a fifteen minutes break for everyone on board to go to the toilet buy some snacks and so on.
The town of Batu Niah
This town is booming. This area here is home to Malaysia’s oldest caves system. You can google Niah Caves to know more. Early human life here dates back 39000 to 45000 years ago.
After a short toilet break and getting some refreshements, it was time to get back on the bus.
There is a few more stop left before reaching Sibu.
On my way to Bintulu, Sarawak.
Finally reached the Bintulu station for some rest and lunch. While I was there, we went around to check out the retails stores.
Saw this Galaxy Transformers robot.
Quite cool. If you love toys, this is definitely something to get
Lots of buses are parked here. This used to be a station that had nothing beside. It has slowly grown into a huge area with lots of shops and things to do.
After an hour, it was time to get back on the bus. This bus was on its way to Sibu.
The next stop is Sibu.
Thank you very much for reading this post. Can tourist come here and use the bus system here? The answer is yes
