Traditional Chinese house

Have you ever seen a traditional Chinese house? I have never seen it before. This was my first time.

This was the time when beds were made of wooden boards. There was a rattan mat that was used as a mattress. This house showcases decorations for a Chinese wedding. Usually, a lot of red decorations are hsed around the house as it is quite suspicious.

Today, I am bringing you to visit some of the traditional houses here.

Sabah State Museum last part.

A basket on the table.

A kerosene lamp

There was a time when not all houses had electricity and the only way to light up the house was to use these kerosene lamps on the walls.

A picture of a chinese family

The next photo is a potrair of newly weds.

The traditional stove.

Stone was placed beneath the pot. Firewood placed beneath.

The outside of the house.

A workspace

The side of the house.

It is quite rare to see houses like this these days. It's great that this musuem built these houses for the future generation to admire. A place to learn about the past.

After visiting the traditional Chinese house, I went to check out the traditional long house.

There was a trampoline in the middle of the house.

I saw some young mam who then jumped hp and down to try to grab this piece of paper at the top.

The long house

These are the long houses of Sabah. In Sarawak, usually long houses are not like this. So, while I was there, I was pretty excited to visit the different long houses.

Most of these houses were made from raw materials that could be found in the forest.

Do check out the whole tour on my YouTube channel

Part 2

Part 3

Thank you very much for reading this post. This is the last post of Sabah State Museum. There were so many sections to explore that I spent quite a long time checking out everything there.
