Title: An Unforgettable Adventure in Kundasang, Sabah
It takes two hours to drive up here from Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Is it worth it? The answer is yes. One of the things I enjoy about driving up here is the view and the next best thing is the temperature. Kundasang is the location of the highest mountain in Malaysia at more than 4200 metres in height. I went and climbed it in 2015. I won't be doing it again. It was quite stressful for my body physically.
Kundasang is known as the "New Zealand of Borneo". This is the only place in Malaysia where you get cool temperatures. The temperatures here can dip to as low as 14 degrees Celsius.
"The New Zealand of Borneo"
The view here is always charming with the lush and beautiful greenery.
This is the inside of the SS Chinese restaurant. We went there a bit late so most of the food here was all sold out already when we got there. A couple of years ago. The ceiling has lots of cute Sunflowers at the top part.
So many tourists eating here. Some of the tourists are from West Malaysia and some are overseas.
I drove my car all the way from Miri to get here.
It took around 10 hours. That was one day before this day.
Then I drove another two hours up here.
I was with my wife and my parents. I have another new car coming so this could probably be my last trip using this car to drive up here.
The number of cars here is overwhelming. These are roads that were carved into mountain ranges.
I usually drive around these roads during the day and by 5 p.m. I usually stay put back at the hotel. The hotels around here are not equipped with any air conditioning system.
The view here is just mesmerizing. I am not sure how the locals around here managed to built everything here.
The houses are built on slopes.
The Kundasang mountain ranges are some of the best in the world. Fortunately, it is located at a driving distance from where I live so if I want to have a short getaway, I just take my time to drive all the way here.
Thank you very much for reading this post.
Have a wonderful Saturday.

That must be a good day to go out since the area is fully parked. The place is great and I love that ceiling full of sunflowers. The restaurant owner must have been an avid fan of sunflower.😇
