My tortoises have grown quite a lot

Hi hi.. It's another wonderful Tuesday. How has your week been so far? My week has been pretty good. =) It's been quite a while since I last posted about my tortoise. I have a Sulcata tortoise. This is the third largest species in the world. He is currently around three years old.

This is my Sulcata at the moment

He's currently huge and eats a lot. Even his own poop. He loves to eat his own poop. Yes. So, if he ever poops on the floor, I will try my best to scoop it away as soon as possible to prevent him from eating it.

He has a special enclosure where he stays the whole day.

He poops and eats here. Then, there is another place where he goes to sleep at night. Usually, around 5 p.m., it is time to ask him to go back to his other enclosure.

He's currently more than 10 kgs. So he has to walk to his area to sleep. He usually knows how to get there. I've trained him to do that. Usually, when I am free, I usually use a toothbrush and brush the shell to remove any stuff that should not be there. He knows that it is time to head to bed. He starts banging on the door. Early at seven in the morning, he wakes up and starts banging on the gates as well to want to come out.

If you plan to get a Sulcata, one thing to take note of is that it is going to grow big and needs a lot of space and food. I have a small garden behind my house that is where he gets a supply of his veggies.

So this is an update on what is going on with my tortoise. It's been quite a while since I last wrote about him. I guess more than a year. Tortoises are pretty easy to take care of. Just give him enough food and light. Do not give him a lot of water. It's not good for him.
